Guest guest
Because DMSO is a carrier and you can take it internally to carry nutrition farther into your system. It is good to take with any certain vitamin you know your body is lacking in, like Bs. Lots of people use it this way. Try it for awhile. You can see, too. Guest guest
See if you can get me data about what happens to it in the stomach in conjunction with food. I want to know how it carries an apple or an orange to the bloodstream. I think it will jump through the wall of the stomach into the bloodstream so fast that it will not have time to take anything that is a water soluble with it. Guest guest
Harvey .. re. why to take it internally? I use it both ways actually, but for larger amounts I take it internally because I need to either follow it up on the skin with lots of moisturizer, which means I have to do the application 2 to 3 X each time but it is particularly beneficial, I believe with things like arthritic or muscle pains, strains, any hint of swelling from insects, etc. But, for getting elsewhere in the body where the purpose is to use it " nutritionally " I have been consuming it as I can do a larger amount with a lot less effort. I recently fell out of bed directly on the top of my head and jammed my shoulder in the process, twisted and hurt all various kinds of spots. I was primarily worried about brain swelling so after I & my husband made our way to the kitchen, I mixed DMSO with cayenne, tumeric and black pepper and have been using dilutions of that a few times a day. It would have been almost impossible to get enough applied to the skin without many applications many times and I still would not have felt it might go to the brain area as fast and effectively. Just my 2 cents worth. Time and place for each! Joyce Simmerman
Guest guest
Lyn, DMSO is a really powerful solvent, which means it dissolves things into itself. So it's only logical to store it in inert, non-reactive containers instead of those made out of plastic or metal which are known to leech noxious substances. And vessels made out of glass are about as inert and non-reactive as you can get. Make sense? Elan > > I had not come across that information. Generally speaking, the kind of DMSO recommended on this list is the least expensive, available at most any tack or feed store. That's where I got mine, and promptly transferred it to a glass bottle as soon as I got it home. The kind sold for human use and available in glass bottles is WAY more expensive. Guest guest
I remember a long thread on this ages ago, I think in another group, where someone contacted the folks who bottle DMSO in plastic and their response what that they choose the right, inert plastic for this application. There are all kinds of plastics. When I'm on the road, I have to rely on plastic. Otherwse, I rebottle in glass at home. Guest guest
Those who bottle in plastic pick a " least likely " to dissolve but this is insanity as you can't compare other solvents to DMSO to come up with least likely. DMSO is not called the universal solvent for nothing. I use roll ons out of plastic with a plastic ball daily for skin application but, my drinking material for good liquor and good DMSO is bottled in glass and drank out of glass. My early roll ons from FWI in Ok City had the triangle " 2 " on them but there later roll ons have nothing. No triangle period. If anyone out there has a roll on that is refillable that is glass and has a glass ball, I am " hunting " all the time. I would love to find a 3 ounce but would settle for even a one ounce. If you have a glass container with a glass ball even rolling in a plastic half sphere or a plastic ball rolling in a plastic half sphere, I would be interested. Guest guest
Exactly. I've never seen either hydrogen peroxide or DMSO come in anything but plastic for the regular consumer. It will come in brown bottles if ordered from a USP chem supply, but then the price becomes exorbitant. Over time the bottle will likely degrade (3-5 yrs). I've seen it happen, esp w/ 35% hp. Just transfer to a more appropriate container. My dad used to buy both years back, and he gave me some, which is how I know this. --tls ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: Guyot Léna Subject: Re: THE FACTS?.
