Guest guest
Hello Anyone else had their doctor tell them their anemic? It's no wonder I'm winded, my lungs are fine... it's my blood that's not working! Except for running of gas, sore feet and heels, I've been doing quite a bit better with the MTX and Naproxen. My flares are basically down to sore toe joints, heel pain and being tired. Luckily the fevers have been gone since November 09 ! Just wondering if anyone else is anemic and what they were told as to the cause. Thanks

Guest guest
Actually, anemia is pretty common, so much so that there's a name for it: Anemia of Chronic Disease. It goes along with many of the AI diseases.
Guest guest
I used to be severely anemic. A lot of it seemed to stem over the fact that I was vegetarian so I put meat back into my diet but it was hard to get rid of (the anemia that is). > > > Actually, anemia is pretty common, so much so that there's a name for it: > Anemia of Chronic Disease. Guest guest
greetings marty, you got me confused with someone else. i'm not a vegatarian, in fact i prefer meat over most other types of food. i can usually tell when the borderline has dropped into actual animia cause i start craving meat big time. that's when i break out the liver. good thing that high cholesteral is one thing that has never been an issue for me. seriously though, i try hard to keep my diet high iron. even the green stuff that i eat, lots of broccolli and such. blessings, elizabeth
Guest guest
Me too. I have to have my hemoglogbin chacke every 4 weeks and if below 10 and falling, have to get an Epoogen shot. Nissa is getting Neutrogen to stimulate production of one of the types of white cells. Epogen pushes the bone marrow to make more red cells. In addition to what mentioned as " Anemia of Chronic Disease " , our enlarged spleens (those of us with that condition) can have our red cells get yanked from the system before they should and the bone marrow can not keep up on its own. I will not even mention some of the drugs we are on can supress the bone marrow in some individuals. Guest guest
Hi Royal and others, When I was first ill I had a certain type of anemia that I was later told could be a specific side affect of Still's disease. I was even hospitalized for intravenous transfusions of iron twice in the first year of my diagnoses it was so bad. So, it definitely is a Still's symptom. Anyone else Anemic Hello Anyone else had their doctor tell them their anemic?
Guest guest
Hi , Tonight was the first I've read messages since like April, I noticed in your statement that you're having " heel " pain. Can you explain the pain in your heels? My son, Cody has had pain in his right heel since Feb/March. Thanks, Tricia ________________________________ To: Stillsdisease Sent: Mon, April 26, 2010 10:38:26 PM Subject: Anyone else Anemic  Hello Anyone else had their doctor tell them their anemic? It's no wonder I'm winded, my lungs are fine... it's my blood that's not working! Except for running of gas, sore feet and heels, I've been doing quite a bit better with the MTX and Naproxen. My flares are basically down to sore toe joints, heel pain and being tired. Luckily the fevers have been gone since November 09 ! Just wondering if anyone else is anemic and what they were told as to the cause. Guest guest
In response to my heel pain. My heel 'bone' isn't really sore, it is the heel towards the front of the foot. As if the tendon or muscles are tender. It's very much like pushing on a severe bruise. Occasionally I still experience some tingling in my feet (feels like cold water running over them) and oddly a the same time they get hot. Yes, hot to the touch. I prefer cold (floor tiles, the leather couch, an ice pack) over anything else. On the anemic front: I was just in to see my Rheumy. He said that the 20mg Methotrexate is what he's going to hold me at. My anemia could be part of the stills and they have no way of knowing. He said " get to exercising and do what your body will let you, you don't need to hold back " . I'll do just that! I'm dying to get back into shape.
