Guest guest
Im actually relieved to hear someone talking about regulating their body temperature as a problem. I struggle with sweating and being so hot and I cant stand to be in my own skin, to having chills and shivering in the middle of the day for no reason. I live in south Louisiana, right on the gulf...its NOT cold here. Why does this happen? Is this common? I have been trying to walk (a very short walk mind you and my husband and father took the cover off of the pool just yesterday, But we won't start to heat it for another couple of weeks (until the weather is a bit more steady here (just outside Nashville). But I hate that I can't really exercise. I have a Wii, and five minutes dose me in. My foot will throb and hurt for days if I do more than the 5 minutes. It doesn't seem fair... my old boss use to say, No one ever said that life would be fair or easy (when people would complain to us about the hard projects we'd give them), but somehow, having Still's gives it a whole different perspective. I've been in a 'fever' flare I call them. Outside of the joint issues, I wake up with a temp between 99 and 99.5 - doesn't sound like much, but my normal morning temp is 96-96.5 and my afternoon/night temp goes from 100-101.5 - it just wipes me out. It's been like this for a few months. I see my Rheumy on Tuesday and I think we will switch from Remicade to the new IL-6 drug. I hoping it will help with the temps. So I totally get it - when people ask you to exercise - you want to so bad, and yet you know what it will do to you. Oh well. I'm happy if I take one of the dogs for a short walk or get a shower for the day - so pathetic!!! Hang in there. Guest guest
Common to me...yes and it drives me nuts! I have been outside on a twenty degree day, and suddenly i will sweat like it was mid summer...and i have had to don a jacket in 80 degree weather....i attribute it to prednisone and of course Sir Stills....keep in mind that is what i attribute it to...your case may be different....i'm with you though...i live in the sunny south like you....in the foothills of NC....it is normally not that cold here either....ahhhhhhh...it is crazy though, huh? Hope this has helped....if nothing else, you are not alone! Many Blessings! Larry B. from NC
