Guest guest
<<For me, it's the inability to think -- to form coherent thought, to beable to think craetively, to have no memory of recent events, to have wordretrieval problems -- sometimes my brain feels like some cotton battingtaking up space in my cranial cavity and nothing more.>> I am 3 years post paxil to glitter what if any improvement did you get after the 3 years you are still discribing me at 6 years. I am convinced i have turned blonde permenently i feel like people can tell that something is not right with me when i talk to them.Which makes me even more nervous. Just want to know if my brain will get anybetter.I end up like a 2 year old stamping my feet when i cant find a simple word like kettle even when i am looking at the damn thing. Guest guest
Yes, it does get better, Ros, but I STILL have those word retrieval problems when I'm under stress. Same with focus and concentration. Too much sensory stimuli will also trigger massive brain fade where I can't think at all. But at least I'm not MAKING UP words which is what I did in the early months of withdrawal. It was like my brain had invented a new language all on its own. I have a lot of blonde days, too. LOL Blind Reason a novel of espionage and pharmaceutical intrigue Think your antidepressant is safe? Think again.
Guest guest
hey girls, down with the 'blond' jokes, I come from a bunch of Swedes with a peppering of Danish and German.... no lack of fair haired kin for sure..... BUT..... no lack of the brain bit either lol I always hated being stereotyped as a kid, had big boobs too... darn, oh well, there was a time in history where blue-eyed blonds were actually desired lol hugs > Yes, it does get better, Ros, but I STILL have those word retrieval problems > when I'm under stress. Thank you for describing what I have experienced since I misstarted my withdrawal from Parnate in Oct. 2000. I did it way too fast and it was 18 months before I wanted to try again the right way. -
Guest guest
But at one time you were talking about a reaction to Paxil--a sort of heightening of your imagination. I was told these were delusions and that I should be on drugs for life. I had this type of reaction with Prozac It was hardly just a heightening of my imagination -- it was both visual and auditory hallucinations, and they were caused by the drug. It was truly a long walk down a corridor in hell -- and yes, children have the same kind of reactions, and I can't imagine what it would do to a child since I'm an adult and have yet to recover from the horror of taking Paxil.
