Q: cutting back on Seroquel

Kim or ,

Last night I cut my Seroquel down from 200 mg to about

125 mg. Plus I took two Benedryl, and two squirts of

the Bach Rescue Remedy for sleep. I slept lighter, but

did sleep some.

Is the Benedryl less harmful than the Seroquel on my

liver? Is this a good way to taper down?

Thanks!

***We'll have to wait for to address the specifics of this. She

should be online tonight. Regarding the Rescue Remedy, however, I can tell

you that it is not intended for use as a sleep aid. It simply doesn't apply

(kind of like taking cough syrup for a broken leg). Rescue Remedy is used

only in acute situations when you have had a sudden shock or injury. It

works wonderfully well in the situations for which it is intended, but I

think you are wasting your money by using it to help you sleep.

I hope you will soon be able to try out the Cherry Plum, because it can be

extremely helpful for those explosive feelings you described. Again,

though, it will not be useful in helping you to sleep (unless it's the

explosive feelings that are keeping you awake).

I'm glad you got some sleep last night :)

Melody, I am no expert, but around here we are into being gentle on

the body... you have hurt yourself for over 10 years, a few more

months does not seem outrageous to me... I could be wrong and

seroquel may not need to be tappered, but.... go slow and small cuts

till you tell how your body reacts....hugs

Well it said in the little brochure I had on the

products to do that, but I agree with you more.

I will try that, definitely. But I also need something

not for crises, for the rest of the time to make up

for the mood stabilizers, when I'm just having up,

down, up, down, up, down all day.

Thanks *so much,*

Melody
