Guest guest
Such a simple method, thanks for sharing a good plan, nystatin is normally the choice for long term use, perhaps it is more affective for a longer period, before the yeast become used to it. Diflucan is my choice is I think the yeast has gotten into my lungs. The heartache I had with all anti yeast script meds, is at some point they become ineffective as the yeast seemed to develop a tolerance for them, secondly I had assumed they were working and keeping the yeast out of my body, but not the case, they only kept in check for symptoms. So in effect they were just masking the symptoms of yeast and encouraged me to think, they were working through and through. It was only when I started high doses of iodine, did I find out the truth. I spent several years in ill health, not much energy, tired, several other health problems that now I see were all related to yeast infections. So I wonder how many people think they are yeast free, and how many are truly that way. Yeast build up in my bladder made my dock think I had a nervous bladder. A burning sensation on ejaculation, dock just through up his hands. An painful knee, just went away, thought it must be arthur, as well as pain in my left hip. A re-occurring tooth infection itchy bumps on the back of my head Foggy brain and there were more, but how many would relate any of this to yeast infection. I do have chronic leukemia, which leaves me with a compromised immune system, and I truly believe if you immune system is compromised, by disease or if you have an auto immune disorder, you most likely have a yeast problem. But none the less, as Dianne points out, an ounce of prevention is worth several pounds of cure. david lubbock tx.
Guest guest
Hi Dianne, Am not familiar with Mycostatin (nystatin). Is it a statin drug? Have read that statins like Warfarin for reducing cholestrol are very harmful over the long haul. I may be having a senior moment though, so I reserve the right to be wrong. LOL My sources on that (if correct about statins) are Dr Wm and Dr Mercola. You are right to insist on the generic most any time for sure. I would do the same. Not sure if I would do Keto or Kefir while taking abx. Likely I would do Kefir minimum of two drinks of maybe 6 OZ volume each day with kefir added. Can mix with whey protein (Whey Factors is brand we use) for a great snack and boost protein:carb ratio while bolstering probiotic count. A win-win. Oh, although not fun, fasting while doing probiotics is a good thing because when not helping us digest food that is present in our GI tracts, probiotics attack and eat yeast. It may be though that fasting will not do for getting well from whatever is causing a need for abx. Likely not. The things about Kefir that are so great is that the concentration of probiotics is so great compared to any capsule form and that is costs so little and is so very easy to make on your own kitchen countertop. I wonder if it is ok to take both kefir and some form of antifungal such as Mycostatin or Keto at the same time? If so, would be a potent combo to cure type II Diabetes it seems, provided the diet was corrected. Gerry > > >imperative to take mega doses of probiotics after any round of any > type of antibiotic. Guest guest
>Am not familiar with Mycostatin (nystatin). Is it a statin drug?< LOL, Gerry, Certainly not! I wouldn't take a statin drug even WITH a loaded gun pressed to my head! I did take a statin once, years ago, and it caused me such muscular weakness that it scared me. The heart is also a muscle. >Have read that statins like Warfarin< Warfarin isn't a statin. It's used to prevent blood clots, but it has so many side effects that when it was prescribed for me in the hospital, I weaned myself off it as soon as I got home. I continued taking nattokinase. As a result of natto, I have no clots and my arteries are squeaky clean. <grin> >fasting while doing probiotics is a good thing because when not helping us digest food that is present in our GI tracts, probiotics attack and eat yeast.< Interesting. So do you feel that fasting on yogurt or kefir would be beneficial? The things about Kefir that are so great is that the concentration of probiotics is so great compared to any capsule form and that is costs so little and is so very easy to make on your own kitchen countertop.< I'm interested in learning to make kefir. Any suggestions? >I wonder if it is ok to take both kefir and some form of antifungal such as Mycostatin or Keto at the same time?< I don't see why not. I've never heard or read that I shouldn't eat yogurt or kefir while taking abx. Has anyone? >If so, would be a potent combo to cure type II Diabetes it seems, provided the diet was corrected.< I only take antifungals when prescribed antibiotics since the minute an antibiotic hits my system, I get a yeast flare-up. I take garlic perles at other times. I've found them to be very therapeutic. Dianne
Guest guest
There may be a better plan, but I simply order kefir grains from amazon.com, less than ten on my front porch, they come freeze dried, and it did take a batch or two to get them rocking, but they do rock now. the bag is growing bigger and bigger, I put them in a small garmet bag, made of linen, like tobacco used to come in. I just plop it from glass of whatever to new stuff, let it work for twenty four, drink and replace for the next day, as easy as eating warmed blackberry pie with a scoop of ice cream on top. Kumbooka is supposed to be hot to, although I lost my mushroom to neglect. and no very little about it. david lubbock tx.
Guest guest
Hi , Here's a great source for info on kombucha tea and the SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast) that makes it. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/original_kombucha/?yguid=408502367 Be well, Léna There may be a better plan, but I simply order kefir grains from amazon.com, less than ten on my front porch, they come freeze dried, and it did take a batch or two to get them rocking, but they do rock now. the bag is growing bigger and bigger, I put them in a small garmet bag, made of linen, like tobacco used to come in.
