Guest guest
<<I have to see my pdoc tomorrow *so that I'm not accused of being non- compliant and therefore losing my SSDI*. These doctors love to label me non-compliant! Any hints on how to stand up to the pdoc (for someone who is intimidated by authority figures?) He's going to try to drug me some more. I've got to keep my SSDI.>> ***Does the doc come to your house and watch you swallow the pills? You can certainly accept the scripts.... I see them as very flawed individuals who have no clue about nutrition or the effects of medications. I see them as taking money and gifts from drug reps (who, btw, I see in almost every MD office on almost a daily basis). They are brainwashed individuals whose every recommendation needs to be checked out by ME and by YOU. Therefore...you are SMARTER than they are becuase you at least are checking out what the drug reps say. Authority figure? NO WAY!!!!!! Guest guest
(I guess that *is* a mood stabilizer?). It's actually an anti-psychotic. A neuroleptic, alhtough I think they try to say it's an atypical antipsychotic although there's nothing atypical about it. Guest guest
Dear Melody, You said: <<Any hints on how to stand up to the pdoc (for someone who is intimidated by authority figures?) He's going to try to drug me some more. I've got to keep my SSDI>> ** With a history like yours I doubt your doc is going to think you could get better (this is how they are taught to think). Tell him you feel pretty stable (if you do) and would like to not " rock the boat " . If he is still insistent, take the scripts, fill them, and stash them. Regards,
Guest guest
why would he want to change something when you tell him you are doing better..... Because if you're better, you might now qualify for SSD as their definition is that a disability must last longer than one year or end in death. Guest guest
Melody, if you feel better now, then tell the doc, why would he want to change something when you tell him you are doing better..... > I'm doing great without lithium or any mood stabilizer now. Except > I'm still hooked on Seroquel. (I guess that *is* a mood > stabilizer?). At any rate, I'm on a LOT less drugs than I used to be. > > I have to see my pdoc tomorrow *so that I'm not accused of being non- > compliant and therefore losing my SSDI*. Yeah that makes sense. I see him today. He is also very concerned about the damage done to my liver (unlike the regular MD!)
