Guest guest
I've never heard of Real Salt. I have been using Himalayan Crystal Salt pretty regularly for about two years. I was doing the Salt-C protocol for about two weeks in the spring, but I hit a big bump in the road and quit. I tried it again, but it was a bad time for me then, too. So I quit before I got started. I want to get on it again, though. I don't know if it has iodine, though. But it is interesting in that when I first started using it, my body wanted it all the time. I added that to everything I ate. That " want " went away, though. ________________________________ Â Have you seen much discussion on the list about using Real Salt, a pink salt with natural minerals, successfully to supplement iodine. I love this stuff and have absolutely no fears about it causing high blood pressure because that is a total misconception. You can lower high bp by cutting sodium, but the converse is not true, raising sodium does not cause high bp. Guest guest
I grew up on a dairy farm, each spring we would haul all the manure from both the cow barnes and horse barns and it was spread on the fields for fertilizer. I have always imagined that manure was loaded with micro and macro nutrients that plants needed to grow. These days they use a standard three part fertilizer which only contains nitrogen phosphorous and potash and nothing more. So I wonder today, where do we get the micronutrients we need for our body? Obviously from what you say about H Salt, you were missing something your body really needed, as I am sure I was in the same pickle jar. I know that Edgar Cayce said we only needed water, salt, soda and iodine to sustain ourselves, but show me the micronutrients menu too. And thanks for gently telling me what real salt is, Him Salt, wow, have I got a lot more to learn. david lubbock tx. > ** > > > I've never heard of Real Salt. Guest guest
I don't have lyme, but what I have is just as troubling and stubborn and hard to free myself of. I have two kinds of parasites that are all through my body. I have " twitchers " in my limbs, back and chest just under my skin. I have " movers " in my colon. I was taking pretty high concentrations of salt-C because I cannot drink lightly salted water. I can only take in heavily salted water. I think I was putting a T into a 20 oz cup. I stopped after I had a most horrible experience with feet and leg cramps that lasted for hours. I don't know if the salt did this, or if it was a combination of the salt all day with an added single dose of acetone daily that was the bad combination. I quit and took acetone for two months, but that didn't seem to do anything. ________________________________ Real Salt was my fall-back (locally available) whenever I ran out of Himmy salt, but Swanson's sells the cheapest, best, Himalayan salt. Guest guest
Among all else that I have done, I added DE about ten months ago. I would say it does nothing. Someone on another group recently posted that DE needs to be dry to kill things. I mostly believe that. I do not even believe it is putting silica into me, either, because my creaky jaw has never gotten quiet. Tho I have to also consider that this could very well be because of the parasites and what they feed on in me. I won't really know what really works for me until I find the magic bullet that kills them. Even when I found coconut oil last June, it only went so far, and at first I really thought that was going to be my miracle!! It did so very much at first! I am now trying to put kombucha and kefir into my system. I never addressed the repopulating of the bowel, so I have looked into that since February. I am also popping pomegranate enzymes throughout Right at the moment, I am drinking kombucha with chaga tea. It's pretty good that way. I am dreading the passing of warm temps, tho. I had such a hard time getting started because my house is too cold in the winter months. Even a couple nights this week have been nights that have been just great for sleeping, but not so good for fermenting kefir and kt. ________________________________ Have you tried food-grade diatomaceous earth? Guest guest
This has actually never been demonstrated so I have to step in her and call bull hockey on this " wrong belief " . DE to work has to be dry. If you use it in your garden for pest control it has to be reapplied if it gets wet. I have used it personally in my professional kennel. It did absolutely nothing even in very high doses for my dogs, puppies or any internal application I tried it on. I had a 50# bag of food grade to play around with. I will say that I did find one very good use. I put it in small swimming pools in the summer for my chickens. They would roll in it and it would control the lice that are a plaque for them in hot weather. So please please stop perpetuating this rumor. If you will notice it is those who sell DE on the net at an outrageous price who keep pushing this claim but they never offer any proof. I have called on well known seller on the hype, when it did not work on my puppies who had tapeworms and she kept telling me to feed them more and that it takes time. Well the poor things lost lots of weight and she would never come up with any documentation no matter how often I asked the right questions. Finally she just stopped answering my emails. She owns a wolf sanctuary in CA and depends on that work to enhance her credibility. I find this a heinous and insidious practice and actually harmful to the many pets who are treated with DE instead of a remedy that actually works. For tapes that would not go away in that litter I used Power Packing, that is Fenbendazole horse wormer in past form, three days in a row. It is labeled for dogs but the horse paste is cheaper. These puppies by 8 months were very thin and I could not put weigh them until I did this. I suppose the Tape were encysted by then and nothing, not even Droncit helped. I am more than a little disappointed that this woman is able to spread such a destructive rumor just to make money to feed her rescue wolves. I won't let an animal suffer or die because of a predudice against conventional meds and chemicals. Guest guest
Have read that DE is only good for stomach/ intestinal/colon parasites. Have also read that olive leaf extract kills them in both intestines and elsewhere in body. It can be difficult to take, causing nausea. Best taken on empty stomach tho, and best to build up gradually. May be that grapefruit seed extract can kill parasites other than intestinal? If so, less likely to cause nausea. Not sure about Pau D'Arco. Nastiest stuff ever, but known for fungal killer. Not as sure if it kills parasites other than in intestines. > > Among all else that I have done, I added DE about ten months ago. I > would say it does nothing. Guest guest
What is a good site where I can learn about these herbs? I found a great sale on Olive Leaf at mynaturalmarket.com so I bought 4 bottles. But I don't know a whole lot except what various herbs kill parasites. I don't know how they do it or how much I should take or anything like that or even what else they do in the body. ________________________________ To: DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO Sent: Sunday, July 17, 2011 8:41 AM Subject: Re: Iodine and Real Salt  Have read that DE is only good for stomach/ intestinal/colon parasites. Guest guest
For me it is the table salt (with aluminum and caking agents, etc) that raises my blood pressure. My BP with medication has been pretty good 122/75 and i take sea salt in my food, though not a lot. > > > > Hello Lyn K, > > > > You asked where to learn about iodine taking and dosing,,,I have been > > monitoring a site called iodine@... <mailto:iodine%40yahoo.com>, > > this group teaches everything about taking care of your health with > > iodine, curing problems with your thyroid..the owner of the site is a > > naturepathic doctor,,the owner and moderators are extremely educated > > in the treatments,,,I have been reading there files and post for about > > a year and have found it extremely informative. Guest guest
It's all a bit mysterious, when the make up of seasalt and regular refined salt is about the same, yet seasalt has no affect on my BP, I am such most days I take in a level teaspoon. but I tried a teaspoon of refined salt, wahoo, within a couple hours, I could easily feel my heartbeat in my ears, I was not expecting such a reaction and unprepared and in an awkward position where I could do nothing, except wait it out. Kinda scary, not knowing how high it may have gone. Most culinary schools use nothing but seasalt. david lubbock tx.
Guest guest
There's been a lot of press saying salt is bad for you, but what they neglect to mention is they're talking about refined salt, or what I call 'mono salt' which is just the sodium chloride and a bit of other junk, like a useless form of iodine, anti-caking agents etc. A good salt won't be pure white and dry (even some salts labelled as sea salt are actually refined salt also). If you take a big pinch of some kind of magnesium (I like MgCl 6H2O), if you're particularly lacking, you'll feel within 3-4 minutes a sudden relaxation and the blood pressure will drop to healthy levels, muscles become relaxed, and it's a pretty nice feeling (useful if you don't relax easily for sleeping). Problem is it won't stay there, and an hour or two later the (blood pressure) effect wears off. This surprised me and led me to investigate further, and the conclusion I came to is that the body needs minerals, or at least mineral pairs, to be taken together. Sodium is inter cellular whilst potassium is intra cellular, and a balance between the two keeps the osmotic pressure of both sides of the cell wall at an appropriate level. Magnesium is the key that opens the door to the cell. It just so happens that an unrefined salt contains a lot of different minerals and taking even fairly large amounts doesn't create so much imbalance, and any excess can be urinated away provided there's enough hydration. It is my belief that with proper nutrition someone could wean themselves of all BP medication within a few weeks to a few months. That's just personal opinion and not professional opinion. I'm not 'conventionally' medically trained (thankfully). > > It's all a bit mysterious, when the make up of seasalt and regular refined > salt is about the same, yet seasalt has no affect on my BP, I am such most > days I take in a level teaspoon. but I tried a teaspoon of refined salt, > wahoo, within a couple hours, I could easily feel my heartbeat in my > ears, I > was not expecting such a reaction and unprepared and in an awkward > position > where I could do nothing, except wait it out. Guest guest
Hi , The Hexahydrate version of Magnesium is something that they sometimes spread on dusty roads to keep the dust down. I was completely unaware of this when I started using it, not really sure what hydrous or anhydrous meant. I was mixing it up to make a topical spray (as we were considering making it into a product for our website, so I was doing a bit of home testing first), and there were a few drops on the tile floor. About 6 days later it was still there! (I live in a climate where water evaporates quickly). I also had some in a plastic bag, and after several days I noticed it seeping out all over the desk. So, basically in laymans terms it means it attracts water, and it has an oily texture even though it isn't oil. Also, near where I live there's a salt mine, and I'm very far from the coast and about 180metres above sea level. I did some digging (figuratively, not literally) to find out when it could have been a seabed, and figured that this could be a real classy salt, but without the hype. I use it everywhere, and take it in restaurants with me too, which sometimes gets some strange looks. If you eat salt from the shop it's not a nice taste on it's own, but this stuff is easy to eat half a teaspoon of it, and it has layers of taste that unfold in the ensuing seconds. We've been trying to get it assayed, thinking it would be a simple job, but they want you to tell them what they're testing for (everything?) and they charge on a per mineral basis and can only do 42 minerals. On top of that we'd need to know if any farming chemicals can leech down into the soil, so would be a very expensive endeavour and an incomplete one too. The idea was, since we have a website that has 'mineral' in the title, we really ought to have a real good multi-mineral product, and if we could get this stuff and have the sodium chloride removed (purely because most people think it's bad for you) and leave there rest of the stuff (probably about 1.5% remaining) then we could have something quite special. Once again we've been foiled by the looks of it. We're still trying to get a proper source for DMSO as well, since it's not easy to get something that isn't in plastic or hasn't already been in plastic before being transferred to glass. You'd think that wouldn't be so hard either huh? I'm sorry I don't post too often, and usually have to just skim the digest version as about half of my time is studying nutrition and cures, and the rest is the dull stuff you have to do everyday running a web based service. Guest guest
Do you guys not have these http://jonnytheforeigner.blogspot.com/2009/03/you-wont-find-it-at-home-electric.\ html ? (not my site btw, just googled for a picture of the device) I'd never seen them until I left UK. They're one of lifes greatest happiness generators, when you hear that electrical Crack! and you know the mosquito isn't going to bite you any more. There's a different strategy depending on whether you're big game hunting or small fry. Moquitoes you can just sweep 'em, but house flies require stealth. Their eyes seem to work like motion detectors, so if you creep up on them real slow you can put the bat a couple of inches above its head and it's completely unaware, and its doom is sealed. My business partner won't kill them for karmic reasons, but I kind of think I'm helping them come back as something a bit more fulfilling. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Besides, if I'm preoccupied with mosquito bites then I'm not providing service to others very effectively, and I'm sure Universe would understand. > > Lena you are such a wonderful person. so thoughtful of others. > That is extremely sad of the runner who lost his life from lack of > potassium, I have heard of some hair raising stories with low > potassium, ie dock prescirbes a diuretic, it depletes the potasium, > medical problems arise. . > I am taking 200mgs of iodine and DMSO daily, wahoo what a ride. Guest guest
Inhalation Lol. I'd like to see anyone try. It has the appearance of white cath crystals, and dissolves readily in water (it's dissolve itself if left in a humid climate!). The eyes I haven't had that experience, but it is very very salty to the taste. I usually put it in a capsule immediately before swallowing (otherwise the capsule would get soggy). > www.arthritistrust.org/Articles/Magnesium%20Chloride%<http://www.arthritistrust.\ org/Articles/Magnesium%20Chloride%20Hexahydrate%20Therapy.pdf> > 20Hexahydrate%20Therapy.pdf<http://www.arthritistrust.org/Articles/Magnesium%20C\ hloride%20Hexahydrate%20Therapy.pdf> > > I thought in your business you might have an interest, tlsmith on our dmso > list dug it up. > and posted it, but I feared you may not notice. > I did some searching using your chemical symbol, and found dusting roads, an > then came across the warnings of inhalation, in eyes, etc. I did see a chem > company selling the mag, and it said, comes with a bitter taste, which I > thought unique. > david lubbock tx > >
Guest guest
This talk of potassium and DMSO got me thinking... You know about the IV Vit C for cancer, well usually that's sodium ascorbate, but wouldn't potassium ascorbate be better since potassium is chiefly inside the cell? The ascorbic acid molecule resembles glucose, and I'm sure the microbes would positively drag it in. A proteolytic like serrapepase or similar for clearing the outer cell wall scum, and perhaps some Pau d'Arco tea for the antifungal activity just for redundancy. I think the DMSO would act not only as a carrier, but also a sulphur donor for strengthening the cell wall and correcting the permiability levels. Sorry if that's drifting a little off topic, but just wanted to jot it down somewhere, as it might be just the thing for someone out there. > Hi , > I'm so glad you mentioned potassium! > I've been aware of the mag deficiency Lymies have and of course have > lots of salt, following S & C, but whenever I have any charlie-horse or > heat-induced stomach cramps, I always grab extra potassium for almost > immediate relief. Guest guest
Have you considered purchasing the raw materials and encapsulating yourself and selling on your website, there seems to be no active marketing on the internet at this time. As you have so mentioned, there is difficulty in getting enough in our bodies to be beneficial. I take the mag capsules orally, I also use the oil of mag, but I still get a minor kick from seasalt. So my body still needs more bio-available mag. I also take the slow release pills, still my body likes the seasalt during the day, granted it is very hot here, generally over a hundred each day, and the humidity is not overbearing, mostly around fifty percent, not real comfortable for human beings, but manageable, compared to the remainder of texas, with ninety percent humidity, it's downright ugly there. david lubbock tx. > ** > > > Inhalation Lol. Guest guest
My spelling is getting worse, that should have said 'bath crystals', not 'cath crystals'. Hmmm, you can't really encapsulate it because it attracts moisture so much, they'd turn to goo in no time. It could in theory be in a gel capsule like you get vitamin E or something, but it would be no better than just glugging some back without all that expensive packaging and encapsulation. I was exploring it originally because of all the hype around the spray on Mg 'oils', and although I made a home brew easily and we could get it manufactured easily, I'd just feel bad about selling such a cheap product at the prices it goes for currently. The counter issue to that is that it would be heavy as a liquid, so shipping (since we hold stock in both US and UK and whichever continent it is manufactured in, we'd have to send half of it to the other continent) would be very expensive, and it just didn't tick all the boxes for us. To give you an idea, the Mg I have that I bought at full retail, costs approximately USD$1 for a Kilo (2.2lbs). That will go a long long way (unless you do actually use it as bath salts of course, but it's cheap enough to do that too). Now when you look at all those brands out there selling 'Ancient Minerals' with embroidered stories about only theirs is the real Mg sourced from pristine secret mines in only one place in the world... Kind of a bit sickening really. Mg and 'dirty' salt for me. > Have you considered purchasing the raw materials and encapsulating yourself > and selling on your website, there seems to be no active marketing on the > internet at this time. > As you have so mentioned, there is difficulty in getting enough in our > bodies to be beneficial. > I take the mag capsules orally, I also use the oil of mag, but I still get a > minor kick from seasalt.
