I use the Animed feed store variety, buy it in 1 pound tubs.

jefferssequine.com

and probably kvvetsupply.com have the best prices. I have, in the past,

bought 25# tubs

from Animed directly, as a farm hence I was a business, and saved big

bucks.

The label says ***100% pure MSM*** so no heavy metals. Quality control

assays would ensure

that they are absent. That is an old concern when the MSM was coming out

of China, over 25

years ago. Due to questionable water quality used in some plants. It is

advertising spin and that is all.

Herschler, PhD who held the original US patent on MSM and

popularized its use in the 80's,

established plants that had cleaner practices. I spoke with Dr Herschler

when I was breeding

and racing Thoroughbreds. We talked about the many uses of MSM including

injecting

" dummy " foals. An article in the Blood Horse magazine mentioned his work

injecting them directly

and saving them from certain death -- the foals are born with spinal

cord trauma and can not

nurse or find their way around, MSM injections reduce the inflammation

and the foals are able

to nurse and survive.

Dr Stanley co-authored an informative little book, MSM the

Definitive Guide, and I

believe has published more since it came out some 15 years ago. It is

~$10 from Amazon

and also has chapters on DMSO. Well worth the price and likely available

used for even less.

To me the purity question is a fine line. I feel that unless all levels

of exposure are of the

same purity, including the air I breathe, then why attempt (spend my

hard earned cash)

on ultra pure products when I could spend that same cash on something

that might

help me detox all of the toxins that I am exposed to.

It's a matter of focus I suppose.
