Guest guest
I forget, what is short term memory? ~grin~ I don't remember when the problems with short term memory began (no joke). Since starting w/d it distresses me more than it did. There might not be any real difference. I just don't know. I was on and off trazodone (up to 150 mg then C/T) in 1986; desipramine in 1986; Parnate 40 mg(ye olde MAOI) 1987 (C/T in Dec'87); Prozac (up to 40 mg) June '88; then back to Parnate as much as 160 mg but *only* 70-90 mg for the past twelve years or so. Someone tell me which one is respinsible for the lask of short term memory. Melody wrote: > Does anyone else here feel that the drugs have affected your memory > severely? Guest guest
Melody, all these drugs affect the areas of the brain that deal with memory... that is what they do. They alter the brain..... ALL will have some sort of memory issues.... Bob is suffering from horrible memory loss.... wellbutrin, trazedon, paxil, serzone and effexor... not to mention the benzos he has also been hooked on..... > Does anyone else here feel that the drugs have affected your memory > severely? Guest guest
I definitly am having memory problems. I was on various SSRI's for 10 years, Paxil/Lexapro being the last ones. Sometimes the memory probs make me feel like I have OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder - which actually is another issue this withdrawal is causing) because I will do something and like 2 minutes later not be sure I did it so I'll do it again. For instance, I could wash my hair, then condition, then not remember if I really washed it or just thought about it but skipped it. It is sooo crazy making! I try and Breathe through it. It if need to " double do " something with more concentration then I allow myself to do it and try to " keep " it in my memory. I also tell myself (hope) it will get better with time. I have 2 months no drugs. Yey! :-) How much time do you have? nyia > Does anyone else here feel that the drugs have affected your memory > severely? Guest guest
Short term memory problems? Me too! Now I'm in Benzo WD. I'm also 65. Gets pretty confusing. LOL!! Do you think we'll get better with time, anyone? Some say it does get better gradually after being off the drugs. But, gradually.
