Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like a

raging monster. So, not only is the rage bad in and of itself but it

makes me feel like a horrible person.

This is very common! Personally, I had rage so bad that I was afraid to leave my house for fear of what I would or could do. Almost everyone who gets off an SSRI has this experience to some degree. Just keep repeating the mantra "IT'S THE DRUGS" so that you don't start believing that this rage is part of your personality. Welcome to the group.

Hello everyone,

I have just joined the group and am happy to have found it. I have

been off the SSRI's for 6 weeks now after 10 years of use. I am

having severe problems with uncontrollable rage and agitiation. I do

not know what to do. After the first 2 weeks of the withdrawal

symptoms it started to get a little better. The rage and agitiation

was more underlying than prominenet. But about a week ago it flared

up again full force. Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like a

raging monster. So, not only is the rage bad in and of itself but it

makes me feel like a horrible person. I do not know how much more of

this I can take. Everyday is a battle of the will.

Any rays of hope would be much appreciated as I have pretty much no

offline support at all.

Thank you,

nyia

Hi Nyia,

I know exactly what you mean! During my first several weeks off

Depakote (it harmed my liver bad) I nearly got arrested, or people

called the cops on me, twice. I also tend to get kicked out of

businesses and there are many places in town where I'm literally not

allowed to go in.

Right now, I'm just trying to be super-aware and not go into any

businesses that trigger me (banks, doctors, among others) unless I

have someone with me, or I'm really really watching myself.

The Bach Rescue Remedy spray seems to be helping me if I manage to use

it right when I am beginning to get ticked off.

Best wishes,

Melody
