Guest guest
it is obvious that she needs a vitamin and mineral test at this time. Thanks , that would probably be a good idea! Kendee
Guest guest
, No, because she is breastfeeding, she's taking no medication. She is anxiously awaiting your suggestion & I am sure she will try it. I just hope that I can find the Bach Flower Essence. Thanks so much! Guest guest
Dear Kendee, I would do two things for post partum depression. I'd take a good quality full spectrum vitamin and mineral, and I would take The Bach Flower Essence called Mustard in the amount of 4 drops up to 8 times a day until the depression lifted. I've posted links before to purchase these essences online. A search of the archives ising Bach as a search term should pull them up. I don't know if they are available in stores on your side of the ocean. Is your sister taking any kind of pharmaceutical or over-the-counter drugs? Guest guest
Kendee - I had severe post natal depression after the birth of my twins and it really is a terrible illness. Im not in anyway advocating the use of drugs but its very important that your sister sees her health visitor so that they can help her where necessary. (Eg. mine organised for me to see a PND counsellor and to join a local support group for mums with PND) Any practical help she can get from friends and family will be invaluable. Even simple things like a half hour rest without the baby or someone coming in and making a meal can make such a difference to the total exhaustion. She will get better - and one of the most important things you can do is tell her that. In England there is the Association for Post Natal Depression - if you do a search on google they have a website with lots of links and info.
