Guest guest
Hi all! I just wanted to let you all know that today is day 4 of andra being banded, and it's going very well! (I probably just jinxed myself). We've been weaning her into wearing it gradually with the schedule given to us with the STARband, and she's even sleeping with it on. I thought this process was going to be much harder. I want to thank everyone who has given advice on how to deal with the transition, cleaning the band, etc. This board has been an immense help to me, I don't think I could have done this without all of you! Going out in public isn't even as bad as I thought. People are still smiling at andra and talking to her. Some people have asked what the helmet is for, and I am more than happy to tell them. I, like all of you, want to get the word out, so others won't be so judgemental. The one thing I found out quickly though is that if I don't fasten the velcro strap just right, her head sticks to the rug! We cleared that one up pretty quickly. Anyway, I hope to post pics of her in her band sometime soon. Thanks to those who give advice, and to the new moms who are just starting the battle, good luck! and andra (8.5 months) STARbanded 5/19/
