Dear ,

Can i ask for some more advice please - I have a son who is 13. Physically very strong, but emotionally he seems to have inherited my 'worrying habits'. He has a stammer (which we are seeing a speech therapist for). The impediment really shows itself when he is worried about something (when he feels pressure at school mainly). He has dificulty gettingf to sleep when there is something concerning him - usually 9pm, but when worried can be 2am. He will not join any clubs, we have gone to many but he gets in such a panic when i try and get him to join in, it just upsets him. We leave the house 8am each school day, however he sets his alarm for 5.30am so he's not late leaving!

Speech therapy has shown us how much he worries, and how much it effects him not only with his speech.

is there anything (vitamin/herbal) that my son could take to make him feel more relaxed. I feel if i can stop him worrying so much it will make his life so much easier for him. My parents keep telling me to take him to the doctor - but i refuse (you may have noticed i don't trust docs). They have the opinion that docs/pills kno best - which i really resent, but more importantly i don't want Tyler to feel even more distressed about the way he is.

I can see him starting to put up a 'brick wall' to hide behind, and watching him struggle is so upsetting. Can you offer any advice?

Thanks

xxemma
