Guest guest
Mind you, I say this as a Smoker who hasn't tried this, OR successfully quit. Cleansing is not neccesarily the best approach.I have heard/read that eating lots of leafy greens is reccomended. It causes you to retain, or slows down the metbolising of the Nicotine. The quicker you metabolise the nicotine, the more severe the withdrawal. In addition, there is definetly an oral aspect to smoking.1 of the reasons why many who quit gain weight; best to go right to leafy greens, which require lots of oral activity (chewing), are healthy as a replacement habit, (You never are really cured from an addiction, you simply substitute 1 behavior for another) and unlikely to contribute to weight gain.Jim > > I have a friend who wants to quit smoking > but procastinates. > Is there a supplement or herb that will help > a smoker quit ? > I know part of this is cleansing the body of toxins. > > Smitty >
Guest guest
Everyone is different, I found the thought of quitting entirely very disabling, so I slowly began using nico gum, camel snus pouches, patches. My initial intentions were to have a backup when I visited my grandchildren, babies at the time, and of course no smoking there. So I could use an alternate. As I began to enjoy the gum, snus, still smoking of course, I gradually felt like I could completely quit smokes. I slowly stopped smoking cigarettes. I also began taking wellbutrim, aka zyban, started with very small dose and gradually over a couple weeks managed to get to full dose. Here is the catch, it takes three to six months, before the zyban really kicks in, or was in my case. The camel snus, little pouches containing a pleasant tasting sweetener and tobacco with nicotine also have almost all carcenigenic toxins removed. So it is somewhat safe to use. Don't need to spit either. I suppose it took me six months, to gradually move over to only the snus pouches, with the help of wellbutrim, Persoanlly I like wellbutrim as it also keeps the weight gain down when a person quits smoking. I have two friends who used this method without the wellbutrim, by gradually using gum and snus, they have been quit about a year now. I smoked perhaps a package a day, when I thought about quitting I would smoke two packs a day, hence my fear of stopping was greater than actually quitting. stay well, and good luck with your friend, david a > > > I have a friend who wants to quit smoking > but procastinates. > Is there a supplement or herb that will help > a smoker quit ? > I know part of this is cleansing the body of toxins. > > Smitty > > > -- Obama Healthcare, Remember In 2012, A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man, which debt he proposes to pay off with your money
