Gerry Hi Gerry, Where do you get the cilantro ?? I haven't head of doing this before but sounds like another good idea...Lois ( By the way, son, Dan is still loving life without Acid Reflux after 15-20 years of it...) Guest guest
My wife just buys it at one of her shopping stops. Could be either Kroger, Fresh Market, or Ingles here in E Tenn. It really does reduce the burning feeling in my throat by adding the cilantro. I think the cilantro taste will get lots stronger over time as it sits in the vinegar. Cilantro is fine in soups, stews, chili, spaghetti, lasagna, etc, as well as in salads. Even cooked/stewed, it still chelates. I suspect raw is best tho. Will keep taking toxic metals out of your body bit by bit as you eat. Painless and sure-fire way to detox from toxic metals while cleaning arteries. Combined with ACV, it is a home run for reducing/eliminating reflux and raising the metabolism of all foods. > > > In a message dated 12/2/2010 8:36:44 A.M. Guest guest
Hi Gerry, When not available fresh, do you think powdered cilantro in capsule form would be any help? Guest guest
While not as good, likely it would work albeit more slowly. It is encouraging that it does work in soups. Could be best to add it to soups already made, then upon re-heating add it so that it is not boiled. Not sure. Vital that all broth taken in tho. That is where the goodies are if it is made with the soup or stew. It is supposed to be the very best natural chelator, herbal or food. Guest guest
Thanks Gerry, I'll use fresh, but in the boonies, it's nice to have a fall-back position. Guest guest
Lena, Surely not that hard to grow at home. Just another green crucible veggie. Not sure if bugs like them or not. I know that you will never find a spider or roach in a garlic curing barn. Guest guest
Hi Gerry, Believe me I've tried. Limited sill space in our best south windows (in gray upstate NY) makes growing indoor herbs somewhat disappointing. I've never had very much luck with basil, oregano, chives, tarragon, and especially not parsley, so cilantro would probably be a disappointment as well.(Spider mites loved them. I even misted with garlic juice, but no luck) Can't seem to get the moisture and temp right for herbs to thrive.(we have ETS heat beneath those windows) Our outdoor thyme and sage is good year round, even under the snow, but that's all. When we take off in the Airstream for months, growing anything is impossible,(bad, jolting infrastructure, and unpredictable solar exposure when parked; gave up after torturing a lovely aloe plant for 4 months) so it's either the sometime thing at the grocery store, or dried.=( Be well, Léna Lena, Surely not that hard to grow at home. Just another green crucible veggie. Not sure if bugs like them or not. I know that you will never find a spider or roach in a garlic curing barn.
