I don't remember your mentioning that. Is he a large dog? >He used to follow me around everywhere now he just stays on his bed or lays near his water bowl in the Hall.< What were you doing when he was moving more? Is there anything you stopped doing? Are you still using the DMSO? >I am paitiently waiting for the CMO. Ordered Thursday lunch time and paid extra for overnight delivery...still haven't got it So I guess it will be Monday now?< Crossing my fingers and toes that the CMO works well for Chief and improves his mobility!! Guest guest Posted February 20, 2011 Report Share Posted February 20, 2011 I explained to Chief over 2 weeks ago that if he wanted to leave and go back home that he could and that I would be ok with out him. That he could visit me whenever he wanted to and that MUM and Nanny ( both animal Carer's in Life) plus Suzie, Duke and Junior would be there waiting for him. I also got a Pet communicatior in and she said He has Arthritis in both Hips and throught his feet, but he is not ready to go just yet and that he is just very sore. I have put 3 Dogs to sleep before Chief and I could tell they were ready to go...Chief doesn't have this look. Hopefully The Cmo will work otherwise I will try something else. I'll bet many of us are having the same feelings, wishing, hopes. Years ago, I saw my beloved calico cat, Petra, (who was suffering from mammary cancer) hold on to life far beyond what the vet told me I could expect. She seemed to understand how devastated I was by her illness, and she did all she could to make things " normal " for us. When I think of the times she attempted to play--to " fetch " her little red ball--though by that time she was very weak, tears come to my eyes. When we bond with an animal, they also bond with us. Unlike Petra, Chief's main problem seems to be pain. I am hoping that the CMO turns this around for him. However, in addition to the very real pain relief you are providing for him, Chief may also have made an all-out effort for you. I believe that our animals feel what we are going through and want to relieve our pain just as much as we want to relieve theirs.
