Guest guest Posted December 18, 2003 Report Share Posted December 18, 2003 I'm going to jump in here and respond. There are 2 types of cirrhosis of the liver. One from drinking the other from liver disease. Diseased like any other organ can get, an example would be the pancreas which shuts down and stops producing insulin because it's diseased/weakens. Same thing with the liver. It becomes diseased. Having cirrohsis of the liver is like having cancer of the liver including the symptoms....... One does NOT have to drink to get it. My own mother had cirrohsis of the liver and never drank at all........... She had the 2nd type.
