Guest guest
I have used Colloidal silver on burns with good results and also used this on third degree burns on a child. Equal parts of.. honey and wheat germ oil. Mix well . Add finely chopped or powdered comfey root or comfrey leaf until it is a paste. When paste forms apply over entire area. DO NOT PULL OFF,but as being absorbed add on to and keep adding it on. DM In a message dated 12/22/2010 7:30:44 A.M. Guest guest
Hi Taffy, I've used DMSO on lesser burns, but I know that in serious burn units, colloidal silver is used routinely. Perhaps some CS with just a drop or two of DMSO would be helpful. Be well, Léna Hi, Group: I know there have been postings about the successful use of DMSO for burns. Please, has anyone had experience using DMSO on a deep, severe burn where not just the skin is burned, but the flesh is also raw? Thank you, Taffy
Guest guest
I used it on what should have been a third degree burn. I touched a hot skillet that had just come out of a 350* oven -- absent mindedly forgot that the skillet was hot and forgot to use a hot mitt. I immediately poured a small bowl of DMSO that I keep under the kitchen sink, 75% dilution, and kept my burned finger tips in the DMSO until they stopped hurting, about 45 minutes maybe. I would try taking them out and if the started throbbing I put them back in. I never saw any evidence that there was a burn, until two weeks latter three small spots of skin on the fingertips peeled off. There was no blister at all, and surely had I not used the DMSO there would have been a severe blister and a great deal of pain. I did learn one other thing from this incident. I did not wipe the DMSO off before I started typing on my lap top computer, it did blemish the finish on some of the keys! Guest guest
The use of silver in burn units is to prevent the infections that occur AFTER the skin has been burned off. There is no protection from bacteria when the skin is gone and the plasma that oozes from a wound is a perfect food for bacteria, so infection can occur rapidly. DMSO applied immediately will actually reverse the damage to the cell membranes and prevent the skin from dying in the first place. It also is antibacterial but if you are able to keep the skin from dying then no infection will be able to take hold. The DMSO does need to be applied asap to preserve the cell membrane. After the fact it will have less benefit although will still help preserve tissue and prevent it from dying, and will relieve the pain. Guest guest
Any time I want to deliver something subcutaneously, I add a little DMSO. It may not fight an infection in a deep burn, after the fact, but it will help deliver the CS, which will. Guest guest
I have not tried DMSO for this, but CS, which was a miracle worker. My 6 month old cat jumped up on the stove and pulled a skillet of hot oil down. The oil ran down both back legs, from hips to ankles. One side worse than the other--burned all hair and skin completely off, raw and red. I immediately ran cold water over him, and then applied aloe Vera. Poor baby couldn't lay on either side, had to lay on his belly. He hurt so bad he couldn't get up and we had to carry him to the litter box and bring him his food and water. I was applying the aloe several times a day but had to apply with my fingers (fresh leaf) and I knew it hurt him. It didn't seem to make much of a difference in the looks of the burns, though I was hoping it was stopping some of the pain--but it was hard to tell. On the 4th morning I was applying the aloe and wishing I had some way of spraying it on, when I slapped my head and went--spray CS!!! Duh. I ran to the health food store and bought a bottle, got back and sprayed it on. You could almost see the relief on his little face! In about 3 more days he was up walking around, going to his food and litter box by himself, and in another day or so was even playing with his litter mates. Within just 2 weeks the skin had healed completely over the burns! Nice, pink healthy skin, no wrinkles. The 'better' side is totally covered with hair and you have to know to even look for a tell-tale scar. On the bad hip where the burn was worse and large there is a quarter size spot that hair did not grow back, and from that a thin line down to the ankle without hair. But the skin is smooth and pink, not at all like burn tissue scars. It never even scabbed over--you could almost watch the new skin just growing together from the sides of the burns. I was amazed. I could not believe how quickly the area healed and how nicely. I immediately bought a CS maker so that we would never be without it again. Guest guest
Hi , I'm so glad you thought of CS! And I bet your cat was too! Confirming stories like these remind me of the time-honored and proven medicines we have at our fingertips, despite skeptical or clueless people who still rely on drugstore nostrums which are less effective or have harmful side-effects. I wish there were a CS group like this DMSO group. CS pops up in the Lyme groups sometimes too, but I'm sure there are some uses I haven't learned about. I got a bunch of small, roll-on perfume bottles on eBay, and made mixes of CS/DMSO. CS/Lugol's, Lugol's/DMSO, CS/MSM, Aloe/argan oil: all sorts of combinations and strengths. This helps eke out the more expensive stuff like argan, and when using DMSO, avoids hand contact that could put undesirable soaps, or lotions under the skin. I'd appreciate any neat remedy recipes you may have come upon ir thought up. Be well, Léna I have not tried DMSO for this, but CS, which was a miracle worker. Guest guest
Hi Lena. As has been posted, the CS list is a great list. They run through a lot of topics, but if you ask any questions someone always answers. I really haven't thought of many recipes. I just grab what's available and use that, usually neat. I've 'discovered' something with my 2 old dogs. Don't know if it would do the same thing in a person or not, but--to help them with more energy, and because their urine was starting to smell very strong, I started them both on Lippo-C (commercial, not home made, as that is what I have here) and a half ounce of Miracle 2 neutralizer. I mix both into a bit of canned cat food for them. The first 2 days I gave it to them every 2 to 3 hours, after that about 4 to 5 times a day for about 3 days. This would be very expensive using commercial Lippo-C this way (www.liveonlabs.com) but I had bought a large supply just for such emergencies. If using home made I would simply double the amount. I use 1 packet of the Lippo-C, so would double this amount as home made is about 50% strength. Using these two together they both really started urinating a LOT, starting that first day. Within 2 days their urine cleared up and got a normal smell It also helped with the stomach and bowel gas the oldest dog was getting constantly. On the combo--the gas problem basically went away. He would get gas just from drinking water, and this would stay for at least 2 hours, and now does not get the gas, or if he does from eating, it's just a little bit and passes swiftly. Now they are down to twice a day on this combo, and the urine output is slowing a bit. Whether either of these alone would have done the same thing I don't know. I was giving C for the urinary infection I suspected, and the neutralizer 'just because' they hadn't taken it ever before, and it's said to be good for everything. It was kind of a 'last resort' thing, because everything else I had tried on the old dog quit working--digestive enzymes, gas-x, hcl, etc. Other than that, as I said--I just usually use single herbs, sometimes in combo at the same time because it's easier to do that way. I may have a 'new herb' to report on in a few days. I was alerted to this on another list, sent for some and had my first cup of tea today. Since I can hardly believe it works this fast (though others have reported this to be true) I'm kind of hesitant to say anything until I see if, over the next few days, the benefits continue. Samala, -------Original Message------- I'd appreciate any neat remedy recipes you may have come upon ir thought up.

Guest guest
Taffy: Spray collidal silver water directly on the burn. It will kill any nasty bacteria and you should not scar. Do it daily and watch the miraculous healing take place... Manuka honey may help, too, after the initial healing with colloidal silver water. > > > Hi, Group: > > I know there have been postings about the successful use of DMSO for burns. > Please, has anyone had experience using DMSO on a deep, severe burn where > not just the skin is burned, but the flesh is also raw? > > Thank you, > > Taffy > >
