Guest guest
Hi Jim, I couldn't agree more strongly. About 15 years ago, a doctor put me on statins because my LDL was higher than he liked. Not long afterwards I began to have trouble stepping up onto a NYC curb (a distance roughly from 4 to 6 inches). I also started having unusual muscle pain, especially in my legs. I stopped the statin as soon as I became aware of what was happening and have refused to take them ever since. I'm not even sure that having a moderately high cholesterol number is a matter for concern. I have a high HDL and that is all I need to know. Some forward-thinking researchers believe that cholesterol is irrelevant. Others seem to be obsessed by lab test figures, even if their patient has no symptoms of health problems otherwise. Personally, I don't care what any doctor says. NO statins, NO way! Take care, Dianne
