Malpractice suit? & Introduction

Hi and everyone,

I'm so glad to have found this group. I have become very ill due to meds. Mostly Depakote, and cholesterol meds, have all harmed my internal organs to the point where I am so sick everyday. They have permanently harmed my liver, pancreas, and spleen. Probably more, but I will find out when I see a specialist in January.

What makes it all worse is that my regular doctors are so shut-mouthed (or fearful?) about being honest to me, that it has forced my psychiatrist to have to treat me for my physical problems! He is the only one who is honest with me. He tells me that I could die from this, that I could begin bleeding internally.

I am in almost constant pain and the only thing I can eat is crackers. Every time I go to the ER they send me home, because they don't know what to say or do for me.

Today I consulted a malpractice attorney, and they are interested in taking my case, but it would be against several doctors and hospital. I'm wondering if anyone else has sued for damage caused by meds?

Also, my psych meds have been cut down drastically and I'm a total nervous wreck. I can no longer take a mood stabilizer at all. My pdoc won't let me take anything for my nerves because of the physical damage, so I actually went behind his back and bought some Clonezepam online from a source overseas.

I don't know what else to do, to manage my nerves. I have terrible rage problems and have nearly been arrested several times over the past two months because of my abusive phone calls to businesses.

I hope to find some help - and hope- here.

Bless you all,

Melody

Dear Melody,

Welcome :-) I'm glad you're here.

Just a note to other members - Melody and I have known each other

from another list for several years.

** I'm really sorry this has happened to you. I believe you thought this

was happening some time ago but couldn't get any support from your doctors

on that, if my memory serves me correctly.

** I have no doubt they are fearful. It's not uncommon for these things

to be swept under the carpet.

** Some people have. It's a difficult thing because the pharmaceutical

industry ensures that negative studies about their drugs, especially those

still under patent, don't get publicized. They seem to be masters at hiding

just how damaging these drugs are. There are some class action suits for

the problems of withdrawal and there have been some individual cases of

litigation for people harmed by psychotropic drugs (less than 1% as many as

there should be).

In one respect, your case is a little different. You were also on a

statin drug, right? It's a good sign that an attorney is showing interest.

** What were you taking and what are you now taking (names and dosages)?

Because of your condition, IMO, homeopathy and flower essences

would be the way to go.

A number of people here have found that a homeopathic remedy called Aconitum

Napellus 30C helps quite a bit with anxiety. This is available in most

natural food stores and here:

http://www.arrowroot.com/federhomeopathy.htm

Click on Order Remedies in Pellets

Once there, you will choose ACONITE and 30C (default is 12X).

Aconite is taken as needed. One pellet dispensed from the cap directly

under the tongue is the way this is taken. If needed often, 2 or 3 pellets

can be dissolved in 8 oz. of clean water in a plastic bottle. This has to

be shaken by pounding the bottom of the bottle against your palm. You do

this about 20 times initially and then 10 times each time you are going to

take a sip. When it gets down to about two ounces you can add more water

and shake again. There is no need to add more pellets. This should make

it so you can very slowly begin decreasing the Klonopin.

As far as the rage goes, Bach Flower Essences are gentle and effective.

I'm looking at a bigger picture (having 'known' you for a while) and see

where Scleranthus and Cherry Plum would be indicated. They can be taken

together. Don't be surprised if you find your organs nourished and

strengthened from these. They can be found here:

http://www.healthyeden.com/browse.cfm/8,BACH.htm

I understand it is difficult for you to eat. I'd like to recommend a

whey protein drink made from goat's milk I swear by this product:

For emotional support, keep writing. We're here. The other moderators

are and Kim. Most of our group members have suffered damage from

psychotropic drugs to various degrees. Some are still in the process of

withdrawing from them. They are wise and supportive.

Hang in there, Melody. I've seen you get through some very difficult

times before. You've got what it takes. I have no doubt you can do it

again.

Regards,

wow Melody, what a story. So sorry for your situation. I have a

thousand questions for you.... when did all this start, what were you

put on, how long, what doses.... why did you take these drugs to

begin with....how old are you, what is your family situation, what

country are you in????????

You should read our files and learn about these drugs.... are you in

withdrawal for the last 2 months? If so, it could answer why you are

acting and feeling the way you are.... and if you are in withdrawal,

you are getting bad help from your psychiatrist... he should

recognize withdrawal.... be careful and tell us your whole

story....hugs
