Guest guest
Amy, Ava is a doll. She looks like she would benefit from helmet therapy. I would go with an active band STAR or DOC. My son has been in a passive style helmet since January 2, with little to no improvement. If I could go back in time I would opt for the active band b/c he would have been round by now (since we started at 4 months, which is considered early). Now, he is 8 months and we will probably pursue an active band with months more of head shaping. SIGH!!!!!!! There are two other babies in his daycare with plagio (undiagnosed of course) and his best friend in daycare has tort. This is out of only 12 babies! As more and more babies are diagnosed and treated, more studies will follow on speech delays and tort. For now we can all report our findings to the survey section of this board and come up with some findings on our own. As for " What happens if untreated question? " I am a teacher (elementary) and there are some odd shaped heads in our grade this year. Two boys have flat heads. Their hair cannot cover the obvious brachy. They remind me evryday why we continue with the helmet. Anyway, welcome to the group. You have joined a very nice group of people who love their babies, and love to help in anyway possible. Brest of luck with your decision. and Adam U of M helmet > > Thank you for your response! > > Interesting...currently, Ava's ears and > > cheeks are not even.
