Guest guest
Glad you found it helpful, Helena. Have to say though, there were parts where I had to slow down considerably but it was well worth it. I particularly liked 's explanation on the mind's being bidirectional (in 12-Step groups, people would say 'wherever you go, there you are!'); arbitrary; and historical. In that section of the interview, he also says: " We change the functions of thoughts and feelings, not their form, and that makes all the difference. " I had to go over that one a few times and when I finally got it, I nearly dislocated my shoulder patting myself on the back. It's subsequently turned into a useful exercise in hanging up my smarty pants while putting my dunce cap on the closet shelf. While I'm at it, writing this post or any other has to be the toughest, most time-consuming thing for me. Just want you all to know how much I appreciate everyone's contributions here. Cheers, Christie > > Christie, I just took the time to read the link you posted to ' interview with New Harbinger. It was superb! It summed up in a very neat nutshell what ACT is all about, making clear some pesky issues I was having trouble understanding. > > I just wanted to thank you SO MUCH for sharing that link.
