Guest guest
Add Hydrolyzed Oats during your water phase. I also use jojoba and shea in my lotion and creme recipes for these patients. Angie sells these products and has recommended percentages on her site, www.theherbarie.com Andree www.essentialsoapsinc.com
Guest guest
Hi! You all have been so helpful on a number of matters, I was hoping that you could help me with this one! I have been making my own lotions for several years, but recently my brother was diagnosed with a recurring case of psoriasis and I would like to try and make some type of lotion/salve that would help soothe his condition. His flare-ups present as red and rough patches of skin that are itchy and uncomfortable for him, so I thought maybe I could make something that would help. Does anyone have any recommendations/experience with any ingredients that might soothe psoriasis? For example, are there any oils or butters or other lotion additives that would be useful in a lotion for this purpose? Thanks in advance SO MUCH! Guest guest
tea tree oil might help with psoriasis. Some oils and herbs include jojoba and carrot oils, aloe vera gel, and echinacea extract (I have found only one source for this - very expensive) PLUS extracts of chamomile, comfrey and henna Rich

In my oil phase, I would use oils and butters that are high in phytosterols and essential fatty acids (omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids). For information on the antiinflammatory benefits of phytosterols, see CosmeticInfo message 18172. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Cosmeticinfo/message/18172 For info omega 6 fatty acids, read this document. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Cosmeticinfo/files/Ingredients/Omega_6_Oils.pdf Maurice -------------------------------------------------------- Maurice O.
