Hi all, I have to admit that I was glad posted the letters he was

replying to. So often there is a reply that looks intriguing, and I missed

the original post due to an overactive 'delete' finger or something....but

I'm not on digest, so don't have a grasp of that annoyance.

best regards, Brigid

That is one reason why there is a list archive. You as one person can easily

go to the archive to look up a post you deleted instead of having every

member on digest live through trash hell. I don't see any reason for anyone

not editing their posts. It only takes a few seconds and it makes life so

much better for people that receive the digest rather than individual posts.

A very large percentage of our members access their messages through the web

(the archives) I believe that one of the main reasons they do this is

because they are unable to get their mail delivered in a way that is

suitable. Accessing their mail through the archives is at best an

inefficient way of getting their mail, but it is probably less irritating

than having to wade through tons of unedited mail in the digests. If a

person belongs to more than a couple of lists, individual email will drive

you up the wall unless you have nothing to do but sit at the computer.

Marge,

On the average this lists gets 8-25 messages in a day. Each message includes

a subject and I frequently skip those messages that I do not care to read or

get involved in. From my perspective the digest is a waste of time when it

is so much easier to read the messages that you want and skip the rest.

On an average day I receive 150 emails to my home office daily and another

30 or more during the day at my office in NJ. I skip many of the list emails

until time affords me to read them. Note: I am writing this message shortly

after 5AM. My days begin very early and often go into the night.

, if one receives the full digest, it is not POSSIBLE to delete the

messages from one sender.

we receive 25 msgs at a time, in one long file.

if msg #1 is a resend of a long message, or worse yet, the whole digest

(which some folks do) it is not possible to delete msg # 1, unless you want

to throw away the whole digest.

There's too much valuable information here for us to want to do that...

but lack of courtesy from other list members is ...lack of courtesy.

I was going to use other words for it.
