and, , you fully quoted both of the long messages that you are

complaining about, forcing digest readers to scroll thru both of them four

times, instead of twice.

to me, quoting a whole long message without taking the time to delete the

excess is a blatant violation of the rules of netiquette.

When on digest, we recieve all the posts in one single e-mail. We

can't pick yours and hit the delete key. That would delete the entire

digest and all the posts of that particular day.

As a digest member I can tell you it is a real pain to have to spend

time scrolling down the same message over and over again. And if it

happens that 2 or 3 members answer the same post and do not trim,

this becomes very irritating. Furthermore, some people pay internet

services based on time spent on line. This doesn't seem right to have

to pay on-line time because you decided not to trim your posts.

Also to consider, un-trimmed posts make much heavier digests and

those of us who use a yahoo or hotmail addy may have other

messages " bounced " by lack of space in their inbox.

As you say, you don't see the problem as we (digest members) see it

because you're on " individual e-mail " setting. Now you have a view of

the " trim post " issue from the other side of the fence. It's up to

you to decide to spend 2 or 3 extra seconds to trim more than the

Yahoo statements at the end of posts.
