Guest guest
ZOLOFT is an antidepressant but it works for pain for me...takes a good part of my pain and depression. started on highest given dose of 200 mg...and have weaned myself over 2 years, down to 50...but am going back to 100. sounds simple but i swear by it. robin to Kate thanks for the info on Mayo clinic. Thats terrible that you are in severe pain. I dont care what anyone says pain has to be the worst symptom of this illness. I wanted to know what have you tried for it so far? My pain was bad when I was first diagnosed 4 years ago but now its much better; its the depression and fatigue that are messing me up now. Here is what really helped with my pain. First tricyclic antidepressents; flexeril for a while and then doxepin. The I found guaifenesin and that made a huge difference. Then malic acid/magnesium malate worked even better than the guaifensein so thats what I've been on for 2 years now. I know some people with severe pain take morphine. Some take opiods like methadone. Most people dont realize (doctors included) that if you take an opiod for pain you will not get addicted like a junkie. From what I understand the chemicals go straight to the pain center; so once you dont need it anymore there is not a major dependency issue.
