Also, do you have silver fillings in your teeth and do you drink diet soda (aspartame=nutrasweet)??? There are many many things you need to find out and there are several supplements, herbs, vitamins you need to be taking. It took me several years of diet change, excerise and cleansing my body of toxic drugs before I got to feeling better. Guest guest
I don't have sore joints. Instead, I'm stiff, all over. Have to shuffle when I first get up in the morning. Lately, the stiffness seems to be lasting longer. All day today I was stiff it seemed like. Didn't seem to matter if I got up and walked around for a while. Just stayed kind of stiff. The fatigue never goes away entirely. I'm lucky in that I can work and get thru the day. When I'm home I'll fall asleep while sitting or trying to watch something on tv. Never a deep sleep though. Guest guest
You described me to a tee! I can hardly move in the morning, but it loosens up a bit after 3 aspirins and a half a vicondine<SP> I had polio at age 5...52 now. It wasn't that bad, but is far worse now. I had a relapse in my 30s and again about age 44 and every 2 or 3 years after that...now it's staying for the most part. It does go into remission (so I call it) for short periods and I tend to over do then. I clean, cook, garden...then go down for a spell...maybe 3 or 4 months. Then I can't do much more than sit at the computer and drag myself to get my grand-daughter to school each morning. I almost resent having to bath and eat. LOL But if you all hurt like I tend to, you know what I mean. HUGS to you all! BJ in Colorado Pain Walking> > > Hi Susie or anyone with fibromyalgia. Guest guest
Lexie, That is when I feel my worst! the closer i get to my period the worse i feel. I think with me anyway is that during that time my pain tolerance goes down to nothing so the things that didn't bother me before are suddenly right there. Ive had a lot of success taking Calcium Magnesium supplements. They have brought down the pains to a much more tolerable level, also relived some of the other PMS bloating also Tim and on wrote: > Does anyone get worse when they get there periods or pmsing?I seem to > have more aches and pains during that time! Guest guest
My goodness. You must have been one of the last ones to get polio in this country. I am 54 and I remember a girl with polio when I was about 7 and I remember shortly after that getting in to a long line to get the polio vaccine by Dr. Salk..God Bless Him. My mother had polio when she was a girl, but her Mom did the sister kenney exercises with her without even knowing about sister kenney. So she recovered pretty well, considering. I can't take aspirin. I want to try vioxx, it was helping me before. There is another similar drug but can't remember the name of it. I moved and they didn't have that drug here. I'm going to ask my doc. about it since I've changed docs. Got no where with the previous one. I know if I over-do it, then I'm affected the next day or two at least. They have to come up with something that will help soon. Guest guest
I was 5 when I got polio. My mother had it the year before and I got mine from the live vaccine. She was treated with the Sister Kenny method, also and she still walks today because of it. She was told to never let anyone put braces on her legs or she would never walk again. She listened to that doctor and recovered about 80%. She has problems from it, as I do...with hers more severe. I try not to complain, as I can see she doesn't much and I KNOW she is in a LOT more pain than me and her at 81 ! She's a sweet heart, that's for sure. My daughter has Fibro and wants to die somedays. It worries me, as no doctors around here believe her. They think she just wants drugs! Which isn't so....sigh. How do you convince a doctor? Guest guest
Rheumatologist are the doctors most educated on this disease. Your daughter needs to go to a rheumatologist for a dx. I wish her well. Also, was she ever checked for deer tick bites, forget the name of the disease. It causes similar symptoms and they can treat that with an antibiotic to try to improve it. This tick is becoming wide spread and anybody with fibro. should probably be checked for this. Guest guest
I quit smoking in August. I felt that since I was having problems with muscles that oxygen may be involved. smoking decreases the amount of oxygen available and I have heard that it makes fibro. worse. I don't know for sure, but made sense to me, so quitting was, for me, just another effort at changing a lifestyle that might be making your symptoms worse. Probably why your doc. was so concerned about it, it adds to so many health problems. You will quit when you are ready. Guest guest
I know that smokers do not want to hear this, but smoking does cause pain and swelling to those sensitive to it. If I am around tobacco smoke, the next day, I will not be able to get out of bed because of pain and swelling. My Brother-in Law had an operation on his back and was told that if he did not quit smoking, that the chances of having another operation within a few years was very great, 75%.
