Guest guest
Hi Just wanted to let you know that I decided to stop the WP after being on it for almost one year. I am not currently taking any hormones; hoping to try to stabilize my body over time. My symptoms were insidious. I had weight gain, major bloating, and most recently hair loss, all over body tingling to the point my face felt numb, and the beautiful stripe (linea negra)~! I started this protocol because after reading SLM I believed this would be a good treatment to prevent cancer. I wasn't really having too many menopausal symptoms. I still have to deal with my uterus that is too thick (9.6 stripe). I am hoping that being off all hormones, my lining will subside. Because of this, I don't feel I can take any E as it will add to thickening problem. How do I feel not being on any hormones? My uterus is sore. Doesn't Hurt, just sore. I still have some residual tingling over body. Some difficulty going to sleep. I too felt great for about 4-6 months. Didn't feel really bad til almost one year. I am much less bloated not being on WP. Have been trying to work out every day to help get P out of my system. I had read it takes 6-10 weeks to get it out of your system. Does this sound right? Thanks to all of you for your input. Peggy
Guest guest
Hi Peggy - this remains my problem....worrying that my fibroids may rear their ugly head...I had 2 years without a period, and then brought it back by cycling the prog. and using daily estradiol. I am wondering about those who supposedly had fibroids disappear on the WP - is this accurate, or only a hope based on what was promised would happen? I also wonder about the uterine thickening and how long has that bit of sicence been around: in other words, how long have they been measuring thickenesss of uteri post menopause and how long since they decided a certain thickness is not " good " ....rather like cholesterol...before it was measured ,cholesterol level was not an issue..once " discovered " in the common man, it was THE issue...now, it is once relegated to one of the cardio risks, but not necessarily THE risk we need concern ourselves with. Good luck to you and let us know how you're doing!! I have also entertained the thought of getting off E (and P) totally if the fibroids make a return appearance. > Hi > Just wanted to let you know that I decided to stop the WP after > being on it for almost one year. Guest guest
Hi , What is the connection with fibroids and hormones? I know there is one, just can't remember. Dr. Reiss believes strongly in monitoring the uterine thickness. My doc does too; she says that normal for uterus to thicken when on HRT but my " stripe " indicates too much estrogen. Interesting since last blood level on day 12 was 79 for E. Thanks for your comments. Good luck to you also. Guest guest
I believe fibroids are related to [high?]estrogen, but know little else about them. > > > Hi > > > Just wanted to let you know that I decided to stop the WP after > > > being on it for almost one year.
