Cognitive Defusion

Hello all who read this. I have just virtually finished the chapter on

defusion (finished reading through and practicing the exercises that

is). I have been regularly practicing the stream exercise and

labeling. I have also incorporated at least one mindfulness practice

each day. Some interesting awarenesses/experiences have come up. One

of my difficult thoughts that come up regarding all this practice is

this: " You're doing too much; and trying too hard; you're being

obsessive/compulsive about even this now and so on. " I notice that I

do many of the defusion techniques in a given day and then I feel

confused; and notice a tendency to reduce the number of techniques I

use at time or on a given day. I would like to do all of them at least

once, realizing that I will begin to pick and choose which work best

for me and best for the situation I'm in. Is there such a thing as

" doing too many at once? " And might it be more helpful to practice one

or two at at time (e.g., I'll practice these two just for today),

cycle through the many that are available, and eventually become

familiar enough to use the best ones for me/the situation etc. rather

than doing many at once or on a given day?
