Dr. Alvin Pettle

Hi. Just joined the group; it was recommended by the women at WomensHormones group.

I've recently been seeing Dr. Alvin Pettle in Toronto. I understand that Carole knows him. All this is new to me as I've only recently been diagnosed with hormone imbalances (next to nothing P and T; but high levels of E; low level of DHEA) and hashimotos thyroiditis. I'm not sure what I think of Dr. Pettle -- so far, only 1 appt. I sought him out and went to see him because he was on a list of drs who would prescribe natural thyroid. He bills himself as an expert at bio-identical hormones and I would really like to trust him with this. Carole, would you please give me your opinion of him?

Hi Maureen. Dr. Alvin Pettle is one of the most knowledgable docs in

Ontario for BHRT. He was recommended to me by my compounding

pharmacist. I drive 1 1/2 hours to visit him. He is compassionate,

smart and willing to listen. He takes a more integrative approach and

will easily refer you to another doc for other opinions. I like him

very much. I think that you made a good choice. He is also very

actively trying to promote BHRT through lectures to other doctors.
