Guest guest
Hi all, have just come back from a visit to the microbiologist who hs taken an interest in my buggy lungs---he is the infection control specialist at the hosp where i work--i asked him as much as i could think of after waiting forever to see him(1 hour anyway) hate those waiting rooms---seems my pseudomonas is now resistant to ciprofloxacin --i have no choice now if i get a bad flare up to have IV AB's --seems the azithromycin that i have been on for 3 months does not treat the pseudomonas but helps prevent flare ups by somehow stopping the bacteria multiplying--or something--he didnt even seem to know quite how it works but said its to do with the protein synthesis---i should see what happens now i've been off it one week--will be eating my yogurt and beans to try to keep my protein levels high--not much else i can do--hope you are all managing to get the gunk out of your lungs so those horrible bacteria have nowhere to hide---take care --Del
