Thank you very much Jeff. I don't know what's happening with me, but the pain is so incredibly intense that I would have called an aide car if I didn't have children to take care of.

Thanks again,

Jen

Jen,the gi adnormalities do not. however, they can be extremely uncomfortable. some of your bloods do. i know my ana tests are out of wack. sometimes too, you have to look at the blood counts and sed rate.jeff,pg,cd>> Hi everyone,> I had an upper and lower colonoscopy yesterday. Hi Jen,

The ANA test is about arthtitis and testing for lupus. check out this site

http://arthritis.about.com/od/diagnostic/a/ana.htm

I'm unclear on this one important detail- have you been diagnosed with Crohns disease?

I am a Registered Dietitian so I might be able to help you out a little.

Diverticulosis is not related to Crohns. (if you need more info on this, let me know. I'd be happy to explain this disease to you and how to avoid complications with your food intake. its simple and is easy to follow.) It usually is the result of a low fiber diet being following for a long time and results in polyps (pouches that form in your intestine and trap certain food particles)

Gastritis is inflammation of your stomach- this could be causing your bathroom trips. The inflammation reduces the acid produced in your stomach which you normally need to breakdown food.

Your ulcer could be causing the vomiting. I'm wondering if the ulcer was caused by h. pylori (a bacteria) or from medication? do you know? (In May I gave myself an ulcer from taking so much advil for EN pain)

let me know if I can help

Thanks . Sorry I haven't replied sooner, but my brother came to visit and I hadn't seen him in over 15 years! I am going to see my doctor (primary) tomorrow and am going to be asking a lot of questions. I just can't believe that it's all unrelated to one another. 8 of my blood tests came back abnormal. Then the 5 things the dr. found when I have the upper and lower colonoscopy. For the life of me, I can't muster even the slightest amount of energy which is totally not me at all. I have modified my diet. Cut coffee down to one cup, more fiber, no more milk - switched to soy. Don't really want to eat any more as my body seems to almost instantly reject any food. I did have another blood test, the double stranded anti nuclear DNA test - bad result. I really think that more tests need to be done, but don't even know what to ask for at this point! Suggestions from all of the group would sure be welcome!

Thanks again and I'll keep in touch,

Jen

Hi Jen-

How did the doctor go? I want to point out that if you do have crohns and are a period of severe inflammation (sounds like maybe you are?) increasing your fiber won't help. We usually recommend a low fiber diet during severe inflammaiton, then a gradual return to increase fiber again after painful crohns symptoms have subsided.

let us know how you're doing! I hope the doctor was able to give you more information and refer you to and RD

Jen,I would be careful with drinking soy milk. It contains a form of estrogen. I know my EN is caused when my hormones are messed up. Here is a link about soy: http://www.healingdaily.com/detoxification-diet/soy.htm
