Guest guest
Okay, let me see - where should I start. It was warm (in the mid to lower 80s) but dry so it wasn't so bad. Nothing like Texas and Oklahoma when it comes to heat! LOL! Yes, we learned tons of new stuff and had a bunch of stuff we already knew reinforced. The facility is moderate size and ultra professional looking. The front of the facility is the offices and conference rooms and the back is the manufacturing area. One thing that struck me is that everything was neat and tidy - even in the areas where they were cutting, shaving, plastering and grinding. We watched them mold the liner and the plastic over the head mold and that was pretty darn cool. To make that even better the guy who was demonstrating (guy named ) was a hottie. (You can tell him I said that !!) LOL! Then we went in to the room where they grind the features onto the bands. Also very neat and tidy and everyone was diligently working away. Then we saw where the " headsicles " were made and dried - again, very neat and tidy which was amazing considering all the plaster that was made and poured in that room. We also saw where Jeanne (owner of the company) and others do the modifications to the casts as they arrive in preparation for the liner and plastic to be fitted. Another highlight was seeing the " digitizer " that Tim Littlefield was working on. He showed us how it worked (Beck asked if she could have her head digitized and Tim told her she had too much hair - ha, ha, ha!) and it was ultra cool. It is SO complicated that I won't even go into the details here. I will say that one great thing about it was that it can take the picture of the head even if the baby is moving! Awesome! We also toured the Phoenix CT clinic and it was just as nice as the main office. Everything was neat and tidy there too and the murals on the walls were really cool. The information shared by Carol (president), Tim, Jeanne (owner), , and Sandy (insurance specialist) was invaluable. They were all " real " people who care about what they are doing and have a passion for helping babies with plagio. Yes, it's worth the $3000. They are a class act - no doubt about it. They have a heart and soul and that is what makes their company so great. Did that cover all your questions?? LOL! Probably WAY more then you wanted to know! Guest guest
Just one cool thing I wanted to add about the digitizer - our OT in Paramus mentioned to my dh (he's a former Marine) that they are working with the military on the digitizer b/c they have so many of the special ops guys who have funky shaped heads, and some of the gear requires that their helmets fit perfectly. CT is also working on a research study on head shapes (they measured dh and I at 's casting) to see how this may affect the kids with things like bike, football and hockey helmets. Just my random 2 cents! Kerri --- In Plagiocephaly , " Marci Corey " <marcisch@a...> wrote: > Okay, let me see - where should I start.
