Hello & welcome to our group!

Have you been repositioning your son? If so, have you seen any improvement w/your repositioning efforts?

Have you discussed your concerns w/your pediatrician? Often a ped. will then refer the plagio baby to a specialist such as a ped. neurosurgeon.

There are many factors in deciding whether or not to get a helmet. Where abouts do you live? If you are near any Cranial Technology clinics, many of their offices offer free evaluations and they'd give you their honest opinion of your son's severity and if they'd recommend their DOCband or not? There's a list of their clinics under "clinic locations" at www.cranialtech.com

I wish I could offer more advice. If you would go the helmet route, most babies adapt just fine to wearing them w/no problems sleeping or anything really. Welcome again. Please keep us posted on your decision!

My twin son is 7 mos and sometimes look fine, others I can definitely see that his right eye is lower and his forhead protrudes on the left. No one in my extended family sees a problem. My husband and I have been concerned from the beginning, and like many of you are being told by our doc that it will work itself out. Not sure if I want to go the helmet route?? Any advice. Thanks! For more plagio info

I know how you feel. It was really hard on me the first week or so when I noticed there was a problem. Of course everyone else says he looks fine... which he does! But I just wasn't comfortable and went for the second opinion of the neurosurgeon, who said we should band. So here we are... our first day in the STAR band! I would say that if you are not comfortable with it, then seek the 2nd and 3rd opinions. Then you can make a decision from there. Good luck!
