Guest guest
hi cheryl, sorry you had to waste valuable energy and time waiting for the appropriate rx. i hope this will do the trick and you'll soon be feeling much better. jennifer in canadaCheryl wrote: Hi all, well finally, (finally!) I’m seeing some progress. My appointment with the specialist went very well – as I knew it would. He’s furious with my GP, as I am too; really, it’s just not good enough, especially when he’s been given specific instructions about care - at least three times - by my specialist. He said I have a deep infection, and extremely bad wheezing. And for anyone to hear me wheezing it must be bad; mostly it’s inaudible with me. So he’s started me off on Augmentum (?sp) Duo Forte for five days. I am to ring him next Tuesday or Wednesday and let him know how things are going. If I’m not right, he’ll move to Ciproxin for either one or two weeks, depending on what’s required, and if that doesn’t work, I’ll have IV’s in hospital for two or three days to clear it up. He’s ordered another sputum test and blood test to see what’s going on, but he suspects I’ve probably got pseudomonas again, as well as the infection. I knew he’d get things back on track, which is great. But it’s very disappointing that my GP won’t do the right thing. He’s become a bit blasé of late, even perhaps lazy. I’ll be looking around for another doctor very soon if he doesn’t get his act together. More than likely his business will go down the tube without my support! And yes, I’ve already bought my oversized tub of yogurt! Cheryl Post your free ad now! Yahoo! Canada Personals

Guest guest
Cheryl, at long last you're on the right track again. Personally, I don't bother with my GP but go direct to my respiratory specialist (I've got a permanent referral or whatever it is they call it) when I know I've got an infection, take a sputum sample with me and he prescribes whatever's necessary. And I'm also on a 3 monthly review basis anyway. It's a more expensive way to do it but at least the specialist always knows what's happening with me and I feel more secure with this situation. Hope it's not too long before you're jumping out of your skin again (wouldn't that just be something!!!)
