Email letter of interest and resume or CV. 1. ART THERAPY ASSESSMENTS Meets weekly for 2 1/2 hour classes for 15 weeks, late January to mid May. Course content: review of developmental stages in typical/normal populations (Lowenfeld, 1957); study of characteristics of drawings in atypical popuolations; training in selection, conducting, interpreting art therapy and related assessments for purposes of treatment planning. Ethics of assessment. Assessment in research. Validity. Reliability. Some assessments covered are: FEATS/PPAT, DDS, three Silver assessments, DAP, HFD, KFD, etc. Qualifications: ATR-BC, LCAT (or appropriate state licensing). Experience conducting/interpreting art therapy and related assessments in the clinical setting (as above) and linking results to treatment planning. Ability to teach content, as above. Working knowledge of APA style. 2. ART THERAPY THESIS Meets weekly for 2 1/2 hour classes over the 15 week semester, late January to mid May. Approximately 12 students will enroll in this course. Content and Duties: Students implement quantitative research studies that they planned in Fall 07. They gather data, conduct statistical analyses, interpret results, analyze results. Write 3 chapters of thesis: Results; Discussion and Analysis of Results; Summary,Conclusions, Recommendations, plus abstract, figures, tables, references, etc, in compliance with Thesis Guidebook (St 2007) and syllabus. Instructor teaches, supports, mentors, guides, advises, and does light editing to comply with Guidebook and APA style. Finished projects are presented during last two class sessions. Several individual meetings with instructor re required. Qualifications: Doctorate or equivalent with training in quantitative research methodology (descriptive, correlation, causal comparative, experimental, including single subject designs) and statistics. Working knowledge of APA style and statistical procedures and their applications. Willingness to work closely with each student throughout the process, including individual meetings.
