Finding Work Opportunities

for Creative Art Therapists

Finding work as a creative arts therapist is becoming more challenging as the economy is slowing and healthcare providers are undergoing radical change. This updated and expanded popular job search seminar, first focuses upon how creative arts therapists could find work opportunities within evolving healthcare systems. Presented by an experienced creative arts therapy administrator, this seminar offers a unique insider’s perspective of the influences that are changing many treatment settings and creating work opportunities for creative arts therapists. Part of this seminar will focus upon where new job positions are developing and how creative arts therapists can take advantage of future healthcare trends.

This seminar will also provide unique information and strategies for one

to obtain a creative arts therapist position. The seminar presenter has extensive experience reviewing and interviewing job candidates and will share what makes candidates successful. Topics covered include strategies to go about finding positions at facilities that don’t advertise, how to best write your resume, how to best present oneself during a job interview, how to negotiate the best possible terms with a potential employer.

This popular seminar will help those who are looking for their first creative arts therapy job and for experienced creative arts therapists looking to change their positions. Participants are welcome to submit their resumes in advance for review.

Hara, MA, MA, CGP, MT-BC, LCAT will lead the seminar. He is currently the hospital network director of a large creative arts therapy department in New York City. A creative arts therapist with over twenty-seven years of experience, has develop contacts with various other healthcare facilities and has an ongoing interest in tracking treads within the healthcare field. He has interviewed and hired most of his current LCAT staff as well as underwent numerous interviews himself during his career. He will offer his unique perspective on where jobs are most available and what often helps people successfully gain creative arts therapy positions. He also maintains a private practice.

FEE: $40 w/advance registration by 1/28/08. ($50 after 1/28/08).
