Art Therapy within the school system

and all,

If you are asking whether the Board of Education hires art therapists,

I inquired about whether they recognize our art therapy masters degree

or LCAT credential in order to hire us as " Related Service

Counselors " , which are essentially school personnel aside from

guidance staff who provide clinical interventions in the form of

individual and group counseling sessions (primarily to special ed

students with ISPs). The reply was that right now they are only hiring

people who have counseling or social work credentials, and since they

do not have a shortage of applicants they do not see the situation

changing in the near future. So the unfortunate answer to your

question, unless anyone has different information which I would be

interested to hear, is no.

Good morning,

I was curious if there positions available for Art Therapist within

the school system? (not only in Brooklyn, but any area of NYS)?
