Guest guest
I'm an art therapy intern at Mt. Sinai Hospital and am compiling a list of resources for the patients to take with them upon discharge. It seems such a shame to teach them positive coping skills and send them off knowing many don't have the financial resources to continue the journey. Any ideas are welcome. There seem to be opportunities for children, but very few for adults. Thanks in advance.
Guest guest
I understand the concerns you have about outpatient referrals. You might try referring them to the Institute for Expressive Analysis. They have many art therapists who are training in more advanced psychoanalystic technique and can provide low fee services. Also other training intitutes. Your supervisor will know more about these services. Many of us feel the way you do and like myself have at times provided low cost, even pro bono services and a great deal of volunteer services but in private practice we have to be able to pay the rent, insurances, license fees, materials, maintenance and continueing education. That costs money too. Hope the patients get some help from this. Regards, Judith Levy -------------- Original message from "shannonpbradley" : -------------- I'm an art therapy intern at Mt. Guest guest
Thanks for your response. I hadn't thought of the training institute route, but it's definitely a good possibility. I was thinking more of community art centers, not specifically therapeutic resources. I'll share those as well if I come across good ones.
