This January, when the days are short and cold and the year is new, we will

kindle our

internal fires through spontaneous vibratory singing, urban pilgrimage, and

joyfully

physical performance explorations.

" Another City: Heart of Winter " is a unique chance to rediscover your world

through the

techniques of the Urban Research Theater. We will spend each morning in the

beautiful

North Woods of Central Park, and continue each afternoon in a white-box theater

studio.

About the teacher: Ben Spatz trained in Poland with the Gardzienice Theater

Company,

Rena Mirecka (Theater Laboratorium), and the Workcenter of Jerzy Grotowski. He

has over

ten years of experience as a director and performer, and has been leading the

Urban

Research Theater project full-time for over three years. Ben offers workshops in

song-

based physical performance around New York City and is a doctoral student at the

City

University of New York.
