Guest guest
BLANTON-PEALE INSTITUTE IN NYC ANNOUNCES INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOPS IN DRAMA THERAPY IN 2007-2008 Drama therapists use processes and techniques from the theatre to help clients heal, grow, access their creativity, and tolerate change. Engaging in play with others incorporating movements and roles in scenes, clients often find their lives transforming beyond what they have been able to achieve through traditional talk therapy. In the State of New York, drama therapists practice psychotherapy as Licensed Creative Arts Therapists (LCAT). Workshops are being offered in preparation for the Drama Therapy Master's Degree Program for which the Blanton-Peale Institute is applying to the New York State Department of Education. These workshops are designed to help individuals who are curious about drama therapy as a career decide whether or not to enroll in the two-year program in order to obtain licensure and become professional drama therapists. Individuals who want to learn about various forms of drama therapy but have no plans to study drama therapy further are also welcome to take one of these workshops. First Workshop: October 25th, November 1st, 8th, 15th Second Workshop: January 17th, 24th, 31st, February 7th Third Workshop: April 3rd, 10th, 17th, & 24th Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm, Thursday evenings Cost: $240 per 4-meeting workshop Registration: Until one week before workshop Please mail registration information (name, address, phone, and email) with a check made payable to Blanton-Peale Institute to: Fred Landers, Director Drama Therapy Program Blanton-Peale Institute 3 West 29th Street, New York, NY 10001 For more information, call or email fredlanders@...
