Hi ,

I have not read this book yet, but have put a hold on it at our local

library a few weeks back.

Breaking the Vicious Cycle: Intestinal Health Through Diet (Paperback)

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=0969276818/goodbooks/

This diet (the SCD or specific carbohydrate diet) seems similar to

many reduced carbohydrate diets, but it allows natural sugars from

fruits. I did a modified low carb diet and experienced a lessening of

many symptoms. I feel off the wagon in the past few months - let us

say I have a " food addiction " that I battle like some people battle

the nicotine habit. Besides unwanted weight gain, I'm paying for it

with a touchy tummy and sore joints now, so I'm ready to get back on

track. I'll let you know what I think of this book when I read it and

try the principles.

I'm intrigued, as, besides the glowing testimonials about healing

ulcerative colitis, one person claims it dramatically helped her

young child with Aspergers. Like everything else, view with a

skeptical eye, but still, good eating habits do make a huge difference.
