I did have nodules on my legs in Jan/Feb 2007 but once I took

prednisone they went away. My joints hurt really bad... used to be my

knees and ankles but now it is my lower back, hips and my right

shoulder. I have been drinkin 8-12 cans of diet mountain dew a day to

give me energy. This weekend the pain has been so bad I almost went to

the ER. I don't know what they can do for me... I have been to a

rheumatologist and he just tells me that EN will eventually go away on

its own. Does anybody know if this is accurate?

Hi, my primary doctor took one look at my legs and the nodules and diagnosed me... but he also did a ton of blood work, looking at everything he could think of, Lupus, Diabetes and so forth. I had switched birth control pills a couple months earlier and as soon as he heard that he said that was what caused it. I went off the bc pills IMMEDIATELY. I also immediately went to a Rheumatologist because my joint pain is so awful and he just sticks with the same story that it is EN and it has to run its course. I have never joined a group like this before so I am still learning how to work this. Is severe body/joint pain a symptom of EN? Thanks for your quick response, , FLorida Strecker wrote: Hi ,Have you been tested for the many possible triggers of EN? There are quite a few other disorders andconditions that look a lot like EN. These range from bug bites tocancer. A dermatologist is your best best to diagnose EN.Everyone's EN behaves a bit differently. That is partly because theirEN is triggered by different things. We also respond to medicationsdifferently and we have different levels of immunity. I know that

doesn't answer your question, but with EN there are morequestions than answers due to lack of medical research. Love, idio. EN '68

Hi ,

Yes, joint pain is often part of the EN syndrome. I am not sure why

some of us get it and others don't, but I can tell you at least half

do have joint pain. Jasmine is one of our newly discovered EN

triggers. But estrogen and progesterone are EN triggers in any form

for those of us who are sensitive to those hormones.

You have no other symptoms like gastrointestinal or breathing

problems? If not, your dr. is probably right, and the EN is just a

hypersensitivity reaction to the BCP's. That said, some of us feel

that without rest, especially bedrest, the EN will drag on longer than

necessary.

One interesting thing is that some members have started getting EN

from BCP's and then had subsequent episodes from different triggers. I

think there may be a genetic predisposition to EN, but without the

medical research, we won't know.
