Guest guest Posted May 6, 2007 Report Share Posted May 6, 2007 Urban Research Theater seeks actors / singers / dancers for a unique performance project: /// song cycle /// May - July 2007 Theaterlab Actors Training Studio 137 W 14th St., New York City The heart of this project is a " song cycle " with eleven original, highly evocative, wordless songs. The ensemble is currently in the process of developing a performance piece that weaves together movement and narrative elements within the frame of these songs. This process will culminate in a series of informal showings throughout July. Participants should be able to learn songs by ear, but formal musical training is not required. Acting or movement ability is a big plus. Participants will receive extensive physical and vocal training, and are asked to contribute $150/month towards the cost of space rental. Participants must be available to rehearse on Thursdays after 6pm and Sundays 12pm-6pm. To audition, you must sign up to attend an Urban Research Theater workshop in May: Sunday, May 13, 12:00pm-1:30pm Thursday, May 17, 6:00pm-7:30pm Sunday, May 20, 12:00pm-1:30pm All workshops cost $10 for 90 minutes of rigorous physical and vocal training.
