Lynne,

I looked in one box last night and another one this morning but have to go to the ENT doctor this morning. The information was probably more for selecting a primary care doctor, but I will look for it again this afternoon when I return home.

Take care,

Norma

Hi Lynne,

I should imagine he will be asking you a ton of questions when taking

your medical history, so be prepared with concise answers as to how long

you have had bronch, symptoms, how much you are coughing up, etc. Take

along any xrays and other tests results that you have on hand. He

should order an xray or CT scan, bloodwork, sputum culture, and lung

function tests, to get an overall picture of your bronch. He will need

all these results before deciding on the best possible treatment for

you.

You could ask him if he has seen many patients with bronch, even though

it seems that we are a fairly rare breed :-)

Good luck, Lynne. I hope this doctor proves to be a gem.

new doctor

Hi all,

I am scheduled for my first visit with a new lung specialist on

Tuesday. I'd like to go into the visit prepared, so I was wondering

if you had any suggestions on what questions to ask him to help

determine if he is qualified to handle my condition. I have an idea

of what I'd like to know, but any suggestions from the group would be

appreciated. I have not had much luck with doctors being knowledgable

about treatment or even showing concern about my health in general.

So, if this guy doesn't measure up, I'd like to write him off as soon

as possible and keep looking. Any advice?

Thanks,

Lynne
