Guest guest Posted October 24, 2006 Report Share Posted October 24, 2006 PLESASE FORWARD THIS TO ANYONE ON YOUR E-MAIL LISTS WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED Westchester Center for Creative Aging Announces 2nd Annual Creative Aging Symposium The Westchester Center for Creative Aging (WCCA), established to nurture, strengthen and support opportunities for older adults in Westchester County to participate in arts programs, will host “Art is Ageless†– A Creative Aging Symposium. This event will be held on Tuesday November 14th, from 8:30-3:30 at Andrus-On-Hudson, 185 Old Broadway in Hastings-On-Hudson. This event focuses on best practices for organizations which incorporate the arts in working with older adults, as well as artists who currently or would like to work with the older adult population. The day’s activities will feature workshops in the performing, visual, and literary arts, as well as networking opportunities with other organizations, social service and arts professionals. The Westchester Center for Creative Aging is dedicated to communicating an understanding of the vital relationship between creative expression and the quality of life for older adults. In its short history WCCA has held two juried art shows for adults over age fifty five; created a resource guide for organizations and artists who work with older adults, awarded grants to Westchester organizations for projects that would increase the creative capacity of older adults, and hosted the first Creative Aging conference in Westchester last year. “Art is Ageless†is free, but those wishing to attend are asked to pre-register by e-mailing kbrinn@.... or calling .
