YAY YAY YAY !!

I'm SO very happy to read this. We haven't heard from you in ages, and I'm so happy to hear your great update. Even better news to hear your medicaid covered the cost. I think last I had heard SC's medicaid had not yet covered a DOCband, sooo happy they covered it.

I know how excited and relieved you are, I really do!! You should be very proud of yourself for pursuing this, you've done great mom :)

Keep us posted please, cannot wait to hear about Tiernan's rounding head over the next several mos :)

Lots of news here! I have been trying to figure out what the heck i'm supposed to do so that i can share the good news with you all! I thought I could email, but I couldn't even get to email addys on here! AAAGH!! Well, last time I posted, which was ages ago, we were waiting about oh... it had been about a month since CT had submitted our stuff to SC Medicaid and we still hadn't heard anything... turned out the plastic surgeon went on vacation after our appt and didn't bother to fax them the stuff they needed, so... anyway, we found out that they had approved it... yes!!!! finally!! sooooo tiernan had his casting in charlotte on the 15th... and today... he got his DOCband!! it fits so much better than the starband, it's lighter, not as hard to put on, and he doesn't scream and cry because it's hurting his head. And get this... the red spots disappear, and they're only at the points where they're putting pressure on his head to move stuff... so yay yay yay! He wore it the whole four hour drive home, and all day today pretty much!!! Yippee! I am so happy i just couldn't contain myself... he looks so much better, not like his head is trapped in this plastic behemoth of a helmet... i feel like i've been so truly blessed. what i had thought before would eb a major power struggle between me and the little guy is nothing but a sheer delight... he loves his band already, and of course, the ladies at the office up there are amazing... and so are the other mommies in there, too... i'm just real excited! had to let everyone know! (debbie... rachel... there is such a thing as hope after all!!!!!! woo hoo!!!) rachel, i have unlimited long distance now too, so if you get bored...(which is unlikely i'm sure) gimme a buzz. i'm always always here. i'm jsut so happy... i want to run up and down the street waving my arms like a maniac... life is finally good. yay!stephaniemommy to tiernan (mr t, the tiernanator) starband dropout, DOCbanded 4/29/2003~~ ton, SCFor more plagio info

YEAH!!!! So glad to read all of the wonderful things that have been happening to get Tiernan on his way to rounder shapes! Pefect timing for you to check in, someone had questions regarding Medicaid and perhaps you can share more on that process as well! Its great to hear that Tiernan isn't even bothered by his new "hat" and your overjoyed post is a great start to my morning! Wishing Tiernan continued growth spurts and the best of luck. Please let us know how its going when you can.

Well, so far so good... he's been wearing it CONSTANTLY... save for a

head check every three hours, and for the hour off time while he had

his bath and we cleaned the band... he even wore it to bed without

ANY trouble last night... and i am still just overjoyed. this is

awesome. now i just have to decorate it! i'm supposed to call the

ps to make an appointment with him so that he can check everything

out.. . i'm thinking of taking the starband with just so that he can

compare the two for REAL... maybe then he'll give his patients

options instead of just automatically writing a scrip for the

starband. he needs to let people know that they have options and

give them the opportunity to research.

anyway, feel free to jump for joy on my behalf... that trip up there

yesterday wore me out!!! i can't jump anymore!!! aaaargh!!! i'm

looking for that medicaid post now... see if i can help.

Oh, believe me I will... I'm just so thrilled... you know the

feeling, i'm sure. And my family is demanding new helmet pics to

replace the ucky ones, so.... i'd better get out the camera and fix

the scanner... for some reason my digital camera and my computer just

don't get along!!! or do they transfer pictures from the card to a

cd? that'd work too... i guess there's a lot to do now!!! lol...

thanks for the congratulations and sharing my joy!!
