Guest guest
Well, we made it! Firstly thanks to Jeff and Sandy Sponagle in St. NB for all their support and help! Kassidy has benefitted so much from them that we have cannot thank them enough! Our Girls, Keira 21 months and Kassidy who will be 9 months old on Friday did really well, Even the very pregnant mommy did okay! As for Kassidy, she took really well to the helmet, and it actually looks alot less sterile than I expected. The Orthotist moulded it with patterned plastic that has bumble bees and flowers on it! She looks like a little angel in her " halo " ! Her head is sweating alot, but we are washing it alot so hopefully we can prevent some rubbing. Her pressure markings are disappearing in no time when we give her a break, so it seems that we are on the right track! She is sleeping in it tonight for the first time, and so far so good. We hope that it goes well, and wish all the best to all new plagio parents..it is stressful, but having the right information and the right contacts makes it alot easier! We will be sure to post pictures as soon as we get one done, especially of and Kassidy taken this weekend! All the best Wanda

Guest guest
Hi Debbie Thanks for the kudos! As I said we are all doing well, and I am expecting our third! I will turn to 28 weeks tomorrow, and the baby is due on July 23. Keira, our oldest will be 2 on July 16 and Kassidy, will be one on August 2nd! And no it wasn't planned, but we aren't too upset...,Like meeting the Sponagles, we look on it as divine intervention! I am not a bible thumpher by any means, but I have always thought that God would never give us more than he thinks we can handle! At least that is my story, and my griphold on reality these days! lol But hey, years ago our grandparents had a dozen in as many years and my nan is now 87 and healthier than most 40 year olds I know...! Again thanks for the support, and we will post pictures asap! Wanda. mom to Kassidy -- In Plagiocephaly , Debbie <dj2kirby@s...> wrote: > Hi Wanda > YAY!!! Guest guest
Wanda, Keira, Kassidy and Baby to be, Welcome to Helmet Land or Plagio-World. Sandy and I are so excited for you guys. Remember 6 months will seem long but in hindsight will not be that bad at all. You guys definately have the right attitude and spirit. Sandy and I also appreciate your comments about finding treatment. We said all along that if we helped one other family all our work would be worth it. In my opinion we could not have helped a more caring set of parents. Any set of parents who would make such a committment with no guarantees are top notch in my books. Cheers to you......or perhaps " Screech to you " (Atlantic Canadian humour) We wish you guys nothing but success with this experience. Take care and see you soon..... Happy rounding..... The salt St. 's air will be good for growth spurts I am sure...LOL! The Sponagle's Well, we made it! Firstly > thanks to Jeff and Sandy Sponagle in St. > > NB for all their support and help! Guest guest
Wanda, Great news about Kassidy and her new halo (cute)! Sounds like things couldn't be going better - hooray! The bumble bee and flowers design sounds so cute. If you could post some pictures that would be great! I'll have to agree with you about the Sponagles. They are truly wonderful people. I'm very thankful to have them as members of this group. I'm glad they were able to help point you in the right direction. :-) Keep us posted on progress! Marci (mom to ) Oklahoma > Well, we made it! I'm glad Kassidy is doing so well witht he helmet. Sweating is very common in the beginning while the body temp is up. That will deminish as well. Keep us updated on her progress.
