Guest guest
Jacki and Kaitee, I hope that Kaitee gets to feeling better. Hopefully the diarrhea is from her stressing out over her bumps and not quite knowing what is wrong with her. Stress is not good for anyone, and it can cause that. Please do not worry and stress out about what it could be...What has her doctor said? Take care. Debbie~one that stresses out way too often EN 5/07 See what's free at AOL.com. Guest guest
Hi Jackie, Please get Kaitee examined by an gastroenterologist and be sure that you mention the white heads on the EN bumps. They may be the start of Pyoderma Gangrenosum. That is how it starts--like a blister. It can spread fast, so please don't delay. The smoking gun is the EN along with the short stature and the chronic diahhrea with blood in the stool. It will not take a brillient dr. to put these clues together. Be sure to mention Pyoderma Gangrenosum to the dr. and read what we have on the site. If that is indeed the diagnosis,it requires special care, and Jeff our " PG Expert " will assist you. He also has Crohn's Disease so he can help there too if that is the diagnosis. While this can all be unnerving, you have a big advantage by getting this diagnosed and properly treated early. If we turn out to have jumped the gun and tests like colonoscopy show no problem, you can rest assured. Kaitee has all the symptoms to permit this sort of medical investigation. Both Hubby and I had our first ever colonoscopies a few months ago, and both of us choose to do it without anesthesia. Kaitee will not feel a thing with the typical anesthesia. With symptoms like she has, this is a diagnostic colonoscopy and she should get priority scheduling. Please keep us posted and Good Luck!! Love, idio. Guest guest
Kaitee stresses quite a bit. She always has and I try to keep things in perspective for her. I want my children to be successful, but I am not a pushy demanding mom by any means. She pushes herself, especially in school. Because of this, I'm not having her read all this. I told her a little about Crohns last night and that we were going to have some tests done and she broke down, saying "Mom, am I really sick?" It breaks my heart to have her worry like this. No child should have to worry about such things, but I know it could be worse. I know other mothers have had to see their children suffer much more. I just don't know if I could bear it.mohtherof2@... wrote: Jacki and Kaitee, I hope that Kaitee gets to feeling better. Guest guest
Jacki I have Pyoderma Gangrenosum and my affected areas start as red nodules that are painful to the touch and very warm. Eventuall they will start with a dark spot that will soon fill entire red nodule. This black blister like material will eventually pop and ulcerate with dead tissue. I have had several attacks and from the time of red nodule to open ulcer is typically 2-4 weeks. Upon healing I do see systs that are small pimple like nodules with white heads, my dermatologist instructed me to leave them alone and they kind of did there own thing and went away. I made the mistake with PG of going to my gastro first, and I should have found a Derm that specializes in PG. I found one and have a much better life since. I still see both, but my Derm has a much better handle on PG. I have never taken any photos, but can describe all in more detail if you need further description. Good Luck Bill
